Please help my old one is in wall ~how can I get it out
Asked by: Deb
Just unscrew it. I used a 7/8" deep socket to get the old one out and put the new one in.

I have to manually pull the diverter to switch the water back to come out of the tub spout WHY?!?!?! Please help!!

Asked by: Sam
It may have mineral buildup on the diverter or the nylon tab in the back is starting to fail.

Is it really that easy to fix ~ no need for a plumber

Asked by: Deb
Yes, it's really that easy to fix. Just remove the shower faucet face plate, unscrew the old diverter (I used a 7/8" deep socket to do mine), check the hole to make sure there's nothing in it (the nylon tab had broken off the old diverter and I had to pull it out with needle nose plyers), then screw in the new diverter and replace the face plate. You don't even have to turn off the water supply as long as the shower is turned off.

You just remove the shower faucet face plate, unscrew the old Push Button Diverter, check to make sure the hole is clear (I had to pull the flat nylon tab from the old Push Button Diverter out of the hole because it had broken off), screw in the new Push Button Diverter, replace the shower faucet face plate, and voilà you're done. You don't even have to turn off the water supply. It only takes about 10 minutes or so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very effective push button diverter Was easy to install only thing was the instructions did not say how to. But works well after 2 weeks of installation that was simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent The product was good, but the old one was a real problem getting out. The hole in the wall was so close to the valve that I could not get a wrench in, and the protruding shaft precluded the sockets. I finally figured out I could use the pipe wrench on the protruding shaft (duh) and it allowed me to remove it. The new one went in easily, and the plumbing wrench I got at Home Depot allowed me to tighten it. (Wouldn't fit the old one). All good now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy this one NOT the off brand don't cheap out or you'll be back purchasing this one. The off brand we purchased would not pull back out of the valve body without a pair of pliers. The genuine part worked in a 20 year old valve body without issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Best Fix This hard to find part was exactly what was needed to repair this faucet. Without it the cost to replace would be in the !00's of dollars.
