I prefer to use the cover plate even though I only have a single hole. Is this possible or are the threaded rods welded to the cover plate? Thanks.

Answer:
No, the two threaded rods at either end of the escutcheon are securely attached. However, if you have some good mechanical abilities, you may be able to cut off those two rods with a metal cutting wheel attached to an angle grinder. Alternatively, you can cut it off with a hack saw & then grind down the remainder.

Answer:
no, the cover plate has bolts fastened to it. I suppose you could try cutting them, but it likely wouldn't give you an even surface.

Answer:
There are threaded rods in the cover plate which are meant to go through the 2 holes of a 3 hole installation. I've installed mine so I can't tell if you'd be able to unscrew them/cut them off but it would take some effort on your part.
It is a sleek faucet so you may find you prefer the one hole look if you decide to go for it.

Hi Benjamin,
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 1158LF does have an escutcheon plate that is optional. However the escutcheon plate does have shanks that will fit down into holes drilled into the countertop.
Thanks.

Answer:
This faucet came with the escutcheon to cover the three holes if you have them in your sink or countertop. Or can install it with it if you only have one hole.

The part number for the escutcheon that comes with the faucet is RP75614. The faucet comes with a base and gasket that mounts between the sink and the faucet or between the escutcheon and the faucet. It doesn't look like part number RP64070 will work, as the picture does look different from RP75614 (64070 has a larger diameter center hole).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stands Tall The instruction diagrams are large, clear, easy to read & understand. The installation couldn't be easier. I removed my old faucet & cleaned the plumber's putty from the sink top surface. I removed the nuts & bracket from under this new faucet assembly, laid a bead of Silicone caulk on top of the sink & inserted the faucet assembly through the sink holes. Under the sink, I twisted on the two plastic nuts, then inserted the bracket, that holds the center of the faucet assembly in place & screwed on the bracket nut. A great convenience is the included 5" long deep socket, used to tighten the bracket nut. Once the faucet assembly, on top of the sink is centered so the hot & cold water valve lever is centered, then I tightened the bracket nut & the two plastic nuts, under the sink. I cleaned up the excess Silicone caulk that squeezed out from under the faucet assembly gasket. The hot & cold water hoses have standard 3/8" female fittings that fit onto my 3/8" male hot & cold water supply line valves. They clearly marked the hot water line, on the faucet assembly. Then, I removed the spigot aerator & slowly turned on the water valves to clear the lines. When cleared, I screwed the aerator back on. The spigot is 8" high off the sink allowing you to easily fill very large pots with water. The water valve handle & spigot neck move smoothly from side to side. This is a high quality, beautiful kitchen faucet. April 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful modern design, limited features This is a beautiful faucet. The finish is great and the design is also. It does not have a sprayer, though you can purchase one separately. It can be installed in a 1-hole or 3-hole setup, which seems standard these days, but is always a nice touch. The angular design won't work in every kitchen, modern or not. It's definitely Euro-inspired and looks great. Installation was a little more difficult than other faucets I've installed, as you have to unscrew a relatively small nut, but they provide a wrench for this purpose which makes it somewhat easier. Other than that, it installs like any other single-hole faucet. If you like this look, this is a great faucet. If you want more functionality, look for something else. July 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful faucet for the right application This high quality and heavy feeling faucet is a beautiful accent to the right sink. Love the fact that it comes with a face plate so you can cover the holes in a 3 hole sink. Flush single hole mount looks much cleaner of course but the base makes it a nice update without replacing your granite or sink. Keep in mind that this is NOT a pull out faucet it merely swivels left and right and the main column is not overly high so this is perfect for a wet bar sink or recessed deep double sink application. Can't beat the look and feel for the price so it's a great value overall. March 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super modern and sleek faucet Overall: This is a very solid, sleek faucet that's perfect for modern/contemporary decor. Personally, it doesn't have the functionality I needed for a kitchen faucet, but it's perfect for my bar sink (where I've installed it). Installation: Straightforward, comes with faceplate which makes it an option for both 1 or 3 hole sinks. Good to know: This is not a pull out faucet and it does not have a sprayer. (There is a different trinsic model that looks slightly different that DOES have those features, so make sure this is the one you want). I installed this in a bar sink (where it's perfect), but it would also work in a laundry room/bonus sink. June 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great kitchen faucet for bathroom! We used this faucet for my new low vessel sink in the bathroom because it was shorter than most (have a cabinet right above the sink) and fit the height limitations. The faucet swivels which is really cool in the bathroom sink. Looks good. Had professional install it. No problems. June 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Trinsic single-handle kitchen faucet I bought this particular faucet because I already had a sprayer and wanted to be able to attach a water filter to the faucet, which would not be possible with a faucet that had a sprayer attached. In order to have a separate sprayer, a faucet must have 3 pipes. This one has only 2, and it was, therefore , necessary to remove the sprayer, which I did not discover until after the fact. I had taken a picture of my kitchen sink area to the store and explained exactly what I wanted and why. No one advised me that my idea was not possible with this particular model. Other than than it is a wonderful faucet , works smoothly and looks good. Buying it online was quick and easy with free shipping and quick delivery. August 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Faucet This faucet was easy to install, looks and works great. June 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Euro-Modern and Sleek, But Basic Installed in our newly-remodeled wet bar. With the exception of the look, this really is a pretty basic, no-frills faucet. Another reviewer mentioned the spray intensity, and I will confirm that it is pretty strong. Luckily ours is used with a very deep basin, so there are no issues. Overall, I certainly would recommend; however for the kitchen, I would also recommend another more functional faucet. August 21, 2014
