Customer Questions & Answers

Handle adjustment - impossible?

Well, I agree this is a great unit . . . except - the two handles! For them to be "off", the handles are facing forward [not back across]. We have taken the nut off, taken out the cartridge, readjusted it . . put the handles back on in the "off" position, turned on the water and viola! The water runs on both hot and cold sides through the faucet neck. To turn the faucets "off", you have to rotate the handle towards you! We've worked and re-adjusted this for nearly two hours! No leaks - just the handles in the wrong positions. For a $500+ unit - this is unacceptable. Please advise!

Yes impossible, no matter what direction it will drip or have a "constant" stream!

how to disassemble

Asked by: barbershop5
Hi Barbershop5, Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 2256-SS-DST can be disassembled by first turning off the water and then removing the handles. I am not sure why you are taking it apart but the cartridges are contained in the handles. If you contact our Home Owner/Warranty line at 800-345-3358, they can walk you through the procedure on the phone. Thanks. Jody

Love the design perfect for my home But within a month started dropping and constantly running, we can't shut off. Paid $498. Plus shipping Not worth it. The original plumber took almost 3 hours to install, he and his boss was not happy. They told me I should have gotten a Moen! They would NOT come back for the leak! Next new plumber changed out the cartridge... it still leaks and now the hot side leaks also. The plumber says it's a fawl in the design!! DON'T BUY,!!! I haven't even had it 8 months yet, and I'm sure I won't be able to recover ALL my cost, plus the water bill....I'm devastated!!

I get complements all the time but it started leaking at the base of the hot water lever. We replaced the ring but it still leaks even worse. I have to put rags around there to wick the water back into the sink, and now the cold water and the base of the faucet are leaking. It has damaged my counter top and that now needs to be replaced also. I have been trying to find another brand with a similar design to replace it if any one knows of any.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hot faucet leaking The hot side faucet is leaking and the main stem is loose on our Victorian Two Handle Widespread Kitchen Faucet with Spray. The leak comes out of the handle near where it mounts to the sink. It only leaks when the faucet is turned on. The description says it should last twice as long as the industry standard but it does not seem like it. I don't have the original box - what is the warranty coverage?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dissatisfied We purchased this faucet for our kitchen during a kitchen remodel back in 2006 and have had to have a plumber out multiple times due to dripping. A couple of years ago, Delta sent us new parts to have it repaired once again and would only guarantee if using their parts, and here we are again with kitchen faucet dripping and it's been dripping for about the last 6 months as we ponder what to do since nothing seems to work. Because of my granite cut outs, I feel that I have to keep the same set up and when shopping, selection is very limited. I still love the look of my Delta faucet and would love to keep it as there is absolutely nothing else wrong with discoloring, nicks, nothing, it's perfect, except for the drip. I don't recommend this and I obviously don't still have my purchase receipt etc.... I would try new Delta parts again, but I'm not sure what to do as a plumber is expensive and fixing a leak that may not stay fixed is frustrating.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really liked it until.... Just over the 5 year warranty and the spray came apart, leaks around the aerator and the finish hasn't lasted, pealing or coming off in spots...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dripping in the first year, and now leaking from the middle ring of the faucet We bought this set (VICTORIAN 2-HANDLE STANDARD KITCHEN FAUCET) about five years ago. It started dripping in the first winter. We changed the ring and it dripped again in the second winter. We changed the ring three times. Now it stopped dripping, but the faucet started leaking. It is from the middle of the faucet body, around the middle ring area. The faucet looks like it is one piece and I cannot open it. Each time when I turn the water on, the whole faucet raise up a little bit and water comes out of the middle ring. I am very handy and I cannot figure out how to fix it. Hope someone can help. It is shame to replace such a beautiful and expensive faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This faucet will force you to become a plumber. This faucet was installed in 2005 when our home was built. Every year since, one or more of the components has started leaking. I honestly cannot believe this thing is still in production. Normally, the hot or cold will start to drip. This time, the hot side is dripping and the main body is now leaking on the counter. Stay as far away from this product as possible! Unless of course, you want to become a plumber.

It is leaking where the faucet swings and at the base of the spray. Original bought in March 2006 and second one in 2011. I am desperate to have the leaking stop and afraid to purchase another one.
