Questions & Answers

Handle adjustment - impossible?

Well, I agree this is a great unit . . . except - the two handles! For them to be "off", the handles are facing forward [not back across]. We have taken the nut off, taken out the cartridge, readjusted it . . put the handles back on in the "off" position, turned on the water and viola! The water runs on both hot and cold sides through the faucet neck. To turn the faucets "off", you have to rotate the handle towards you! We've worked and re-adjusted this for nearly two hours! No leaks - just the handles in the wrong positions. For a $500+ unit - this is unacceptable. Please advise!
Asked by: Sarah
Yes impossible, no matter what direction it will drip or have a "constant" stream!

how to disassemble

Asked by: barbershop5
Hi Barbershop5, Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 2256-SS-DST can be disassembled by first turning off the water and then removing the handles. I am not sure why you are taking it apart but the cartridges are contained in the handles. If you contact our Home Owner/Warranty line at 800-345-3358, they can walk you through the procedure on the phone. Thanks. Jody

Love the design perfect for my home But within a month started dropping and constantly running, we can't shut off. Paid $498. Plus shipping Not worth it. The original plumber took almost 3 hours to install, he and his boss was not happy. They told me I should have gotten a Moen! They would NOT come back for the leak! Next new plumber changed out the cartridge... it still leaks and now the hot side leaks also. The plumber says it's a fawl in the design!! DON'T BUY,!!! I haven't even had it 8 months yet, and I'm sure I won't be able to recover ALL my cost, plus the water bill....I'm devastated!!

I get complements all the time but it started leaking at the base of the hot water lever. We replaced the ring but it still leaks even worse. I have to put rags around there to wick the water back into the sink, and now the cold water and the base of the faucet are leaking. It has damaged my counter top and that now needs to be replaced also. I have been trying to find another brand with a similar design to replace it if any one knows of any.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hot faucet leaking The hot side faucet is leaking and the main stem is loose on our Victorian Two Handle Widespread Kitchen Faucet with Spray. The leak comes out of the handle near where it mounts to the sink. It only leaks when the faucet is turned on. The description says it should last twice as long as the industry standard but it does not seem like it. I don't have the original box - what is the warranty coverage?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This faucet will force you to become a plumber. This faucet was installed in 2005 when our home was built. Every year since, one or more of the components has started leaking. I honestly cannot believe this thing is still in production. Normally, the hot or cold will start to drip. This time, the hot side is dripping and the main body is now leaking on the counter. Stay as far away from this product as possible! Unless of course, you want to become a plumber.

It is leaking where the faucet swings and at the base of the spray. Original bought in March 2006 and second one in 2011. I am desperate to have the leaking stop and afraid to purchase another one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really hard to fix I am having the same problem as susiehmorris. Both handles were leaking as was the main faucet. The handles turned into a nightmare to remove at the sei screws were calcified into the handle. I had to use a drill to drill through the screws to remove them. I don't know if there are replacement screw available with the repair kit or not. Same problem with the other handle. Now I can't seem to remove the main faucet from the base as the main screw underneath the counter is rusted through and the space is limited. Is there an easier way to repair the faucet without having to take the whole thing out?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Leaking Issues and Can't Dismantle I would like to say this is the most awesome faucet ever made, and I would have until now, BUT, I have a big problem now that there are leaks at both handle and sprayer. Both my husband and our plumber have tried to remove the handles to get to the rings and washers in order to replace them to stop the leaks BUT neither can get the handles off to get to them. DELTA HELP!!!! Is there a manual? Can you tell us how to do this? A $500 faucet should not be leaking but if it's a simple fix, fine BUT we can't get to the inside of the pieces!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP DELTA OR SEND ME A NEW ONE!!!!
