I'm not disappointed in the product itself. It is what it is... an overpriced piece of plastic and tin. My disappointment comes from the fact that the first one I ordered had a small defect on the outer trim. It was so slight but it bugged me because I paid so much money for it.. so I decided to return it. Guess what? They will give you an RMA but I had to pay to ship it back. Regardless I received the replacement and to my surprise it was more damaged. Keep in mind that based on the sturdy packaging, the damage to the kit was not due to shipping but came that way from the manufacturer. After another RMA and paying to ship it back, I'm out $40 dollars and have no trim kit. I'm on the fence about trying to order another one. Very disappointed.

Ugly. Returned trim kit AND the microwave - don't want a product that's rendered tacky / cheap due to garbage plastic trim kit.

At nearing $200 the trim kit is only worth it if you want to match the black appliance badly rather than put painted wooden trim on yourself, for instance. It's a high-margin item for the seller, but it is worth it to us. The information available before purchase is insufficient to know much about how it will mount. I still had to add closing wood trim before mounting the trim kit and substantially cut down and change the metal mounting bracket on top.

Looks ok, but the plastic frame and metal tray looks like they cost about $10 to make.
Replaced the existing GE microwave with the updated model hoping to reuse the old frame. The new microwave was slightly larger requiring the frame to be replaced. At least the old frame was white metal whereas the new frame is just blow molded plastic with a stamped metal tray.
