I was initially concerned that this tool is all plastic and wouldnt hold up over time, but its not an expensive item so what the heck. At this point I have probably punched a couple dozen holes with this tool and I'm happy to report it is holding up well. it is somewhat more convenient to use than the straight punch, especially if your hands are muddy and slippery, so in my assessment worth the additional cost.
Please note: This tool (OR the straight punch variety) IS vital to making a proper hole in your drip line. if you don't, at some point you'll be sorry as the connector will pop out or leak excessively.

I feel that this tool is worth the extra money over the cheap push-style punch. It make putting holes in 1/2" sprinkler tubing a breeze.

This punch works so well that the job of laying a new drip system was finished before my coffee cooled in my cup.
If this tool should Ever break I Will Get Another..... For Sure!

After trying a cheaper push-type tool to punch holes in 5/8" irrigation tubing, I wish I had bought this in the first place. It punches the hole cleanly without accidentally going through opposite side of tubing. And orientation of hole is easy to control.

It made easy work to punch holes for the sprayers. I had used a hand model before; it punched holes by using a drilling method. This deluxe hole punch worked much better. I was nervous that it would break because the pliers portion was made of plastic. Over time, this may be an issue. For the ten holes that I "punched", it worked well. I would prefer a metal version.
