HEOS Freestanding Wireless Speaker - Black is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great speaker - app needs work I've really enjoyed my HEOS 5, since receiving it, up until last month when the app stopped working with Sound Cloud. I called for support, the option they gave me was to connect via Bluetooth and connect to SC via the browser. Unfortunately, I was an early adopter and my model doesn't have BT. Next option was to connect to the line-in jack, from my headphone jack. That was a lame solution, but worked. I ended up buying a BT adapter, plugged into the line-in jack, but, really wish they would fix the SC integration.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sounds great... once connected. This has great sound as you would expect from Denon. Unfortunately, there are issues. 1) The iphone and speaker must be on same wi-fi SSID and sometimes my phone is on the cellular network and speaker is on wi-fi. It's frustrating to lose control of the speaker when that happens 2) The partner apps, like Amazon music, do not have all the features available when going directly on the site. For example, no "search by album" is available

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sound, attractive speaker. No UK Prime Music! Sound can be a little bass heavy when first set up, but some tuning in the Heos app or placement in the room mostly resolves this. Otherwise, its a great speaker which fills our kitchen with sound. The WIFI reception is average so you may need to boost the signal with an additional access point if the speaker is in a dead spot. On the negative side, Bluetooth can be painful to set up and connect. I have also found the music sources to be limited with the lack of Amazon Prime music in the UK. I don't understand why this is available in the US, but not in the UK. Come on Denon!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings about my purchase I read different reviews between the Heos, Sonos and Bose systems and from what I read online I decided to go with HEOS. I have two Heos 3 and one Heos 5 systems. I've had them for almost two years now and in the beginning the systems would disconnect a lot which was very aggravating requiring me to go through the lengthy setup process again. They've done a lot of firmware updates and they've been a lot more stable now. I wish they interacted better with Amazon Echo which I have now but I'm sure they will eventually to that or Google Home.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sound Wonderful but.... I have 2 of the Heos 5's, they sound freaking GREAT but they lose connection with one another ALL THE TIME. I have a great network set up, and each device is pretty close to the router and even to one another. They often just cut out and stop playing anything at all. When I purchased these, Google integration was underway and for some reason Denon gave up. I was really looking forward to that since I have tons of Google items in my home. I lost the cable to link it to my network, so anytime I need to resync them its a B****!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really Great Hardware, frustrating software Really incredible sound profile. <-period for emphasis The app that handcuffs you though with gaps in integration, frustrating connectivity, limited use of apps makes using the great hardware tough to justify. Every Integration with music platforms should be done in the same way as Spotify. Soundcloud, Pandora and Aux are quite frustrating to use consistently. BUT! at the end of the day, I bought the speaker for the sound quality....which is what I am very pleased with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Sound, Great Streaming Options, Plus USB For the size and cost, the HEOS 5 sounds much better than almost all Bluetooth speakers I've heard (it's not Bluetooth). I love the streaming options, and the ability to store all of your music on a USB drive. I loved this so much, that I upgraded my audio-video receiver to one of Denon's new HEOS-enabled receivers (AVRX4300H), and now I enjoys the benefits of HEOS with my larger speakers and have moved the HEOS 5 into the office!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great sound if the Wifi or bluetooth dongle work I have a HEOS 3 HS2 and it is awesome and I never get disconnected. I thought HEOS 5 HS1 experience would be similar but it is not. I get random disconnect from Wifi even though the wifi signal strength is good. Second problem is the bluetooth dongle by Denon. It is detected by the phone it does pair. But beyond that it is moody. It sometimes connects fine and lets me play music and sometimes it refuses to connect. Also, the volume on the phone on bluetooth has alot of lag and sometimes goes to mute by just pressing volume down button on the phone. Anyway, I think they probably resolved some of these issues with HS2 but I am stuck with a piece of junk. I tried contacting tech support but they keep on telling me to do the same troubleshooting again that I have tried several times. I am pretty technical guy who understands how wifi, bluetooth and networking work.
