Answer:
the fixture can take two bulbs but it doesn't mean you have to use both bulb. the fixture will work with only 1 bulb installed. With only 1 bulb the lighting may not be distributed even. Suggest using lower wattage bulbs and install two bulbs if you want the balance look and lighting.

Answer:
Hi and thanks for your question. A brushed nickel finish has brush stroke marks in the surface, made by the buffing implement utilized to 'brush' it. A satin nickel finish is usually just a non-polished nickel, with a matte finish, without any of the brush marks.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy install, nice design Installed in less than 30 minutes, removing the old fixtures took most of the time. The trick is to use a 5 inch or less rope or chain with hooks on each end. Hook one side to one of the light fixture's mounting bracket hole and the other to the ceiling outlet box. This allows the fixture to hang by itself, leaving your hands free to wire the connections. Remove the glass cover when mounting the fixture to lessen the weight, which can be removed by 4 slotted thumb screws. Don't touch the 3 tiny phillips screwhead which secures the glass. Replacing the bulbs is also easy by removing the 4 slotted thumb screws that mounts the glass cover to the fixture. Install the glass cover level straight up so the screw will align easily. The design creates vents making it allowable to used bulbs that are not allowed in enclosed fixtures such as fluorescent bulbs. The venting should keep the bulbs cooler, thus longer life. I would not install this in damp places like bathrooms. I used LED bulb in my install so I don't have to change the bulb ever. I like the standard medium base which gives more options for different types of light bulbs. I used only 1 bulb since one side of the area didn't need as much lighting as the other. Using two does give out a balance look to it. I plan to buy another one to replace my other circline fluorescent fixture. April 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this light! Love the edgy look of this light, kind of Art Deco styling. Looks great in a small living room or entryway. With two 60 watt bulbs it provides plenty of light. I can't vouch for the installation because we had a contractor do the installation. We are very happy with this purchase, and the quick delivery from Home Depot. December 31, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by reasonability price, functional light Light is comparable to what they sell in lamp stores but at a fraction of the cost. March 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Love the look of this light Love the look of this light. Very contemporary. No idea on ease of installation, as our electrician did it. September 6, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great. affordable fixture. Must be ok, as the electrician got it up there in less than 15 minutes! July 21, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Can't change the light bulbs Nice looking fixture, easy installation, fan is very efficient. But when it came to replacing burnt out bulbs, I can't get to them. I tried everything I could think of, including lubricating the edges of the glass, using large suction cups to try to turn the glass, etc., but nothing worked. I called the manufacturer's customer service but the person I spoke with was no help at all. After explaining the problem and the attempts I made, she stated, "Well, you could always break the glass to get to the bulbs". I then asked if they sell the replacement glass if I did break it. Her response was "No". So I am stuck with a light fixture/fan with no access to replacing the bulbs. I will never buy from this manufacturer again. October 1, 2014
