Can i use this to cut plexiglass??

Asked by: tony
Hi Tony, Thank you for your question. This bit will cut Plexiglas, however you will want to be aware of the feed rate and speed of the bit so you don't melt the material. Best to make a practice cut on a sample piece first. Hope this helps.

This bit worked reasonably well for me and probably would have been better if I had a heavier-duty router. Set-up was easy and the cut was clean and quick. There were some "skips", but I believe this is because of the router rather than the bit. The only downside was that I had to press harder than I expected against the cutting edge to get the two pieces aligned.

It didn't end up messing up my piece, and after some thread lock, the screw stayed secured and now is working fine. BUT really this should not have been a needed step on my part to add thread lock to the screw thread.

The only problem I had was that the screw holding the bearing in place came out on the second use and I lost it. I did not check to see if the screw was secured before use, but will in the future.
