Answer:
Hi, flarud - The D1050X is a true Combination blade versus the D1040X which is more a General Purpose/Ripping blade. The D1050X will provide cleaner cuts in Cross Cut material. The D1050X also offers a Racker Tooth on every fifth tooth that will help clear material better than the D1040X thus having reduced burnishing of the material.

I put this blade into my Milwaukee 18v sliding compound miter saw and it cuts like a dream. Nothing ever to complain about with Diablo blades, they outlast and outperform any blade in its class.

As described on the packaging, this blade "cut like a hot knife through butter." I used it for a variety of wood trim, as well as laminate flooring, in a mitre saw. My only complaint is that the laminate floor seemed to dull the blade prematurely. After cutting the laminate, the blade was basically just burning through my wood trim instead of slicing nicely. There is a blade designed for pergo (laminate) flooring, but that was at least 3x the price of this blade, so unless I was doing a whole house it wouldn't have been worth it.

I grabbed two blades off the same rack and didn't check to make sure they were the same. I intended to grab two 60 tooth blades. One cut with this one and I knew something wasn't right. It cut much slower and with more labor than the 60 tooth blade. I knew something was up and stopped to see what was going on. That's when I noticed it was an 80 tooth blade. It was not what I wanted, Home Depot was kind enough to let me return it. All that being said, it did make an extremely nice cut and I am sure that if that was what I needed most it would have been perfect. But I needed a 60 tooth blade because it does a better/faster job with ripping lumber. So while I returned this blade, the blade itself was great. I got two of the 60-tooth blades and they are fantastic. I never buy another kind of blade.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice blade for the price This blade gives a fine smooth cut. I had been using the Diablo 82 tooth blade previously. The 90 tooth blade does as good a job as the 82 tooh and has a thinner curf. So thin that it causes a bit more friction on the riving knife on my table saw, but no so much that it is cannot be used for a rip cut on the table saw. I like the blade and will buy more in the future. I will also keep another blade with a wider curf on hand for ripping thicker material.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't make it through the first job. 1200 SF laminate. 325 LF pine baseboard. Grooves were not cut into the blade.
