Product Overview

Diablo's next generation 10 in. x 80 Tooth Non-Ferrous/Plastics Carbide Circular Saw Blade features new laser-cut stabilizer vents for precise and clean cuts in non-ferrous metals and plastic materials. The advanced stabilizer vents feature a permanent filler baked in from top to bottom for absorbing noise and preventing sideways movement, allowing the blade to slice through materials cleanly, quickly and accurately. Constructed with TiCo Hi-Density special-blend carbide, Diablo's 10 in. non-ferrous metals/plastics blade produces precise cuts and provides 5X longer cutting life. The laser cut heat expansion slots allow the blade to expand and contract during use, keeping the cut true and straight. This blade is excellent for cutting plastics, brass, aluminum, copper and fiberglass.

  • TiCo high-density carbide for increased performance and maximum cutting life
  • Perma-SHIELD non-stick coating for protection against heat, gumming and corrosion
  • Super-thin kerf design for fast and effortless cuts
  • New advanced laser-cut stabilizer vents absord noise and vibration, and prevent sideways movement for precise, clean cuts
  • Tri-Metal Shock Resistant Brazing to withstand extreme impact
  • Precision tensioning is a computer controlled process to keep the blade flat for a better quality finish
  • Laser cut heat expansion slots allow the blade to expand and contract without warping for straight and accurate cuts.
  • Great for cutting non-ferrous metals, plastics, melamine and wood
  • Blade can be used on 10 in. miter saws, 10 in. slide miter saws and table saws (portable and stationary)

Can I cut thin steel tubing with this blade ?( 24 pieces only)

Wanted to cut down a closet door shoe rack, which is too wide. Cross pieces are thin wall steel tubing, which would be impractical to cut with a tubing cutter. What do you think ?

The item description says this is a non-ferrous metal cutting blade but in the details it talks about superior wood cutting and laminate flooring cutting abilities. So, which is this blade, metal cutting or wood cutting?
Asked by: pnetrick
It'll cut metal as long as it's not iron or steel. I bought the blade for cutting PVC wainscoting.

I'm looking for a general all purpose blade for my table saw. I would primarily cut wood. I'm a diy homeowner. I like the idea of having the capability to cut metal with this blade as well. Would I be better suited with 60 tooth blade for the wood and buy a separate metal blade or just this 84 tooth blade for general all purpose?
Asked by: Nick
We're using this to cut aluminum channel, but it does just fine with wood as well. This blade was about 3 times more expensive than some of the 10" wood blades, so that's a big factor. Changing blades on our chop saw takes about 5 minutes - not a big deal, but is really convenient to have one blade "do it all." For my Craftsman table saw, a blade change typically takes 10 minutes. But of course, the table saw has a nice variety of possibilities, from dado to fast ripping. Generally, I'm working with my table saw longer, so specializing the blades is worthwhile to make the right cut when you're running 20-60 minutes of cutting. If it's just one & done, then sure, a blade like this makes sense.

It will cut vinyl siding without exploding the material, however I had to go very very slow. I tried using the sliding miter saw like you should, extending all the way, lowering and pushing away. Then, I tried starting at the rear and sliding toward me. Same result. Later, I tried to cut about a half inch off some pieces. These shattered. Violently. Like if you were using a regular wood blade on vinyl. I got nervous and turned the blade backwards. This fixed the problem and no apparent physical damage was noticed on the blade.

I needed to rip 200 LF of 2 1/2" thick MDF trim on my table saw, and my 60-tooth carbide blade couldn't handle it without considerable smoking and scorching. This 84-tooth blade intended for laminates performed very well and allowed me to quickly finish the job with clean rip cuts and no smoking (although it did create a lot of fine MDF dust). Not a cheap blade, but well worth the money!!

I've used Diablo blades in other configurations with great success and satisfaction in the past. I bought this specific blade to use in my sliding miter saw to cut some extruded aluminum legs (2" square; 1/8" wall thickness) for a custom application on a theater stage. I don't have a metal cutting band saw nor do I have ready access to one. The blade cut literally like a hot knife through butter and left virtually no rough edges - almost no filing required to finish them. As I would expect from a Diablo blade, this one performed even better than expected and I would highly recommend it to others.

We used to cut our metal parts with a band saw for our competitive robotics team and maker space. We recently learned that a sliding miter saw, with a blade like this Diablo 10in x 84 Tooth, cuts aluminum extremely well. So we bought the Ryobi 18 One+One saw, then swapped its wood-cutting blade for this fantastic work horse! This blade cuts through 1/8" thick wall aluminum tube like it was a 2x4 with a nice clean finish. We love the combination of a chop saw with a non-ferrous blade, and in the 10" size, this is the one you want. The ONLY downside is its cost - a lot more than your typical wood blade, but it's going to last us a very long time. Also, compared to the bandsaw blades we've gone through, it will likely save us money while improving our cut accuracy & finish.

Positive: 3 inch structural channel is like frozen butter with a hot knife on my compound miter saw. I am almost more impressed with the way it cuts than how easy it is to screw up a weld on aluminum. So far, I've made about 40 cuts and the missing teeth don't seem to effect the cut enough to concern me. Maybe if I was working on more exact tolerances, but even there, not much deflection.
