Answer:
Yes, keep the blade low in the saw table so it only extends little more than 1/2" above the material you are cutting and avoid forcing the piece through the saw. It should cut clean without chipping. If you have some scraps experiment first and good luck.

Answer:
I would use the 60 tooth or 80 tooth blade on Melamine because of the particle board underneath
the surface. Neither of these will chip nor will they burn the particle board. A 90 tooth blade might
start to get hot.

This is the best blade for cutting plastic. If using a table saw set the blade low and try a cut on a scrap section before making your final cuts. Watch for how fast you feed the plastic as feeding faster may result in some chipping but too slow may cause material to melt and accumulate on the lower side of the sheet. If you are working with Plexiglass and want a straight and relatively smooth finished edge I will often use a plexiglass scribing tool and a straight edge to scribe and snap the plexiglass similar to breaking glass. I place the plexiglass on a straight edge and use a board to apply pressure equally along the sheet to break it along the scribe line. If you are using Lexan which is a very bendable clear plastic sheet this process will not work and saw cutting is your best option. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 37 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice blade for the price This blade gives a fine smooth cut. I had been using the Diablo 82 tooth blade previously. The 90 tooth blade does as good a job as the 82 tooh and has a thinner curf. So thin that it causes a bit more friction on the riving knife on my table saw, but no so much that it is cannot be used for a rip cut on the table saw. I like the blade and will buy more in the future. I will also keep another blade with a wider curf on hand for ripping thicker material. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Reliable Replacement This is certainly a repeat purchase since it has been better for me to replace a dull and/or chipped blade than to get it sharpened. I am getting a new one on average every year for my table saw and my miter saw. Great results. September 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 90 Tooth finish saw works extremely well Clean cuts with 10" Makita miter saw on VG fir for window, baseboard and door trim May 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NICE got this blade for cutting trim and paneling for our bathroom renovation, it cuts clean with out splintering and, it works both with my 10" miter and table saw. I will be buying this brand in the future May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good blade that is good for finish trim work This is my second blade. The first blade worked great until it got dull. The wood would splinter really bad after about 1000 cuts or so. I figure that was a decent life for the blade, and it was time to buy a new one. They aren't cheap though. June 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Only way to go for table saw blade I was so pleased with the Diablo blade I bought for my circular saw that I decided to try one on my table saw I wish I had made that decision sooner. March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 90 tooth blade - smooth cut provided a smooth cut on birch plywood, both 1/2 and 3/4 inch. June 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best blade available for the price. I have tested multiple brands of saw blades and found that the Diablo flawless finish blades have done the best. June 18, 2014
