Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by peregrenetx Great tool. Performs reliably
design results in smooth wall and a flat, level-floored hole. Slight tendency to slip and chatter if being used free-hand rather than in a press, but more an inconvenience rather than a fault. Good bit.

I needed to drill a 2" hole in a finished desktop and this fit the bill. It cut the hole cleanly without any extra marking on the tabletop and easily cut through the pine. The exit was in thin material like luan and this was much more problematic. Had I taped the exit hole before drilling it I might have had a better outcome. Does a great job on hard or soft wood however.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RednexToyz Makes great 2" pocket holes
Needed a drill bit to square off the end of my turning woods and drill pocket holes in some cedar. Works great for the pocket holes. Works great to square off the end of some Manzanita limbs to prepare them for turning stock in my lathe. The guide tip of the bit makes a great pilot hole for my thru drill bit. Sharp, durable & runs true in my drill press.

This bit just shows that you get what you pay for with Forstner bits. After trying some cheaper bits of different designs, I forked over the money for a traditionally designed Frued. No new fangled wings and no saw-tooth edges on this one - just the smooth full ring cutter that enables angles, pocket drilling and overlapping holes. I just drilled an 8" deep hole into end grain of wet wood. The bit just ate it up in the same spot that cheaper Forstner bits couldn't deal with. All Forstner bits get really hot so go easy, clear the sawdust and back off frequently in deep bores so it can cool.
