Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PicoDeGallo Horrible packaging, limited disc grit selection
The welded clamshell packaging requires a sharp knife or box cutter on three side to extract the contents and, when opened, cannot be used to store the miscellaneous pieces. The 50-grit discs included are the finest grit available in the Diablo 4.5-inch disc size; I would have purchased some finer grit discs had they been available. The 5/8-11 spindle on my Makita Sander Polisher (angle grinder) extends about 1/4 inch beyond the disc surface; a 5/8-11 nut between the rubber backing disc and the grinder is necessary to prevent the spindle from contacting the work surface. These things being noted, the conversion kit and discs work well otherwise.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RaffaeleAO Excellent method of removing old paint from deck railings and posts
So, I bought this attachment to use on my 4 and 1/2 inch Dewalt Grinder in a big deck and deck rail renovation at one of my homes. I compared it with the 5 inch disc sander I bought too. This far outperformed the 4.2 Amp disc sander. I recommend using proper eye protection and gloves and a mask, because it is super powerful on the Dewalt Grinder.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by texas527 Nice kit, easy fix to mount the disks.
Nice quality and it works. Had to cut 4 1/2" long slits in the hole on the abrasive disks to allow the spindle nut to be threaded onto the grinder spindle. Abrasive disks are thick and ridged which makes them durable but hard to mount without the slight modification.

Perfect conversion for a grinder which I then used with fiber pads to grind off old black mastic under vinyl tiles. Works perfectly. first I purchased a piece of junk from Lowes which had a nut whose shank wasn't long enough to reach the grinder post.

This kit fit perfectly and does just what I needed it to do. Turned my DeWalt 4-1/2 grinder into a sander.
The backing plate sturdies the sanding pad so you make good contact with your sanding project. Fits in my kit box so I always have it handy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ch33sehead Really amazing alternative to flap discs
I needed to strip all the paint off my log house (who paints a log house?) so I could stain it, and after wasting $700 on sandblasting I decided to grind it instead. I've bought at least 50 of these from the depot. They are scary fast and cut very well, assuming you have a good angle grinder. They are much faster than the flap discs. They don't last as long, but bang-for-buck wise they are double the value.
While it has a 4-1/2in backing pad, I would really recommending using 5" fiber discs to get that extra surface area. Believe it or not, that extra 1/2" gives you a twice as big contact patch, making your work that much faster. Plus they're the same price!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jhb478 All discs would not fit
The Diablo discs I bought separately would not fit the Diablo grinder pad in the kit, the adapter was too short to engage the threads on the coarse discs, which is what I bought it for. Bummer

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Duck Excellent value
The basic unit is very flexible and long lasting. I was surprised at the ease it was to get into tight spots as opposed to my previous attachment. The different grits of sandpaper allowed me to experiment to find the one best suited to my needs.
