Answer:
Howdy Harvey,
If you are using a circular saw it will most likely be a chore. A table saw could work but still have mixed results.
A saber saw or jigsaw would work better but be very loud.
The best way is to use a cutting wheel/diamond blade on a grinder. These have a much faster speed and are quieter.
Happy cutting,
Coach Dave

Answer:
It can cut "mild steel". It probably depends on the density of the steel bar.

5-3/8 in. x 30-Tooth x 10mm Arbor Steel Demon Ferrous Metal Cutting Trim Saw Blade is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cutting Steel Door to Size I bought this to cut down a steel exterior door and frame instead of buying a custom door. I was shocked at how smooth the cut was. I expected some roughness on the edges but was surprised that it cut the steel as if the door had been made of wood. I will definitely find more uses for it now that I know what it is capable of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts some steel I have a chopsaw, bandsaw, grinder and plasma cutter. When I neeed a cut NOW I'll grab this blade. If your using in a worm drive saw wear ppe. Standard saws don't have the full guards like metal cutting saws. Metal chips go everywhere. Impressed with the blade.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I purchased this product to cut 1/8 soft metal uni-strut for a project. I am a union carpenter and have experience with blades such as this. I used little effort and let the blade do the work, YET... it made less than 20 cuts before becoming absolutely USELESS!!!!! Do not waste your money on this blade. There are far better options that last much longer or at least cost a fraction of the price. I am not impressed with the short life span of this saw blade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very good We use a lot of the Diablo blades in our work and they work well but have found this particular metal cutting blade to be inferior to others. We typically use a Lennox blade for our metal cutting and hopefully will not find ourselves short and needing to purchase any of these again. It took 3 of these blades to complete what one Lennox blade would do for the same money

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works better than expected, but short life. I used this blade to make 45deg cuts in 1-1/4" square tubing with 1/8" wall. It cuts cleanly and leaves a nice edge. It only made about 16 cuts before it got dull, and I was babying it, so it is not for big projects. I bought a 2nd one to finish another project, and I would buy it again.

We install it on an 8.5" mitersaw for steel studs and aside from being quite loud (we call it the banshee), it works great. far less sparks than the usual chopbox.

Had a big project where I was cutting steel shelving legs, tried 4 different blades, and these outperformed the competition by a large margin. One of these blades lasted about as long as three of the competition.
