Only sandpaper to take the old paint off my deck, cheap and lasts pretty long. As other posters have already said if you use a hook and loop sander just stick this to a used piece of hook and loop sandpaper

I decided to try these and purchased the 120 and 180 grit packs since Home Depot no longer carries the Ryobi discs. The supposed stickfast backing doesn't stick to anything. After removing the backing and applying pressure to attempt to get it to adhere (assuming that it may be pressure sensitive) it does not stick at all. As soon as I start my orbital sander the sanding disc immediately flies off of the sander. I am returning the product and will never purchase them again. Do not buy these they are worthless!

These do not stick! The minute you turn on sander they go flying right off. Waste of money!

The adhesive backing doesn't stick unless you are completely vertical on a flat surface. I peeled the backing off and watch disk after disk fall off. It didn't even stick to paper. Worse yet, the store clerk recommended this!

First, Diablo makes great saw blades that last a very long time. As for their sanding discs, the grit outlasts the holding power of the loops on the back. I think it is partly because the attempt at universal holes allows sanding dust to permeate the loop material but I am not sure. Anyway, the discs fly off the pad (brand new pad I might add) after a short while and there is still plenty of life to the face grit of the sanding disc. If you buy 50 packs the price seems good but this is probably not a bargan in the long run as the frequent changing of discs is a nuisance. Sorry Diablo, need to improve the backing/loops on this product. The discs that came with the Ryobi orbital sander are much better and Ryobi is not a high-end brand. Not sure why HD went away from Norton or some other supplier but these discs need a second look by Diablo.

This so called "stick fast" backing does not stick on a Dewalt orbital sander. Glad it was only $3

The 40 girt cut through tough oil stained wood and made it look brand new. Managed to get through half of a 24' enclosed trailer with only one pad! Would reccomend this product to anybody.

Don't let the other review fool you. This is a quality sanding disc.
I needed a paper rough enough to remove paint quickly as well as rough up the piece for a "used" look. For some reason it's hard to find any grit lower than 60 at any store, at least in my area, so I decided to give the only option a try. I have a dewalt random orbital sander that takes 5 inch disc and 6 holes. This sander uses the hook and loop system for attaching discs. I don't think the previous reviewer understood how this disc works. This disc is adhesive which is not meant to be applied directly to a hook and loop base.
The complaint was that it clogged up the hook and loop and also flew off the sander. That will totally happen if you're foolish enough to use it that way. To remedy the situation I just attached the adhesive Diablo disc to the face of a used hook and loop disc then attached the "sandwich" to my sander. The adhesive backing obviously allows it to stick to a used pad. I had no trouble then. It stayed firmly on my sander and my hook and loop base did not get clogged with anything. The vac feature of the sander was obviously rendered useless this way as the Diablo pad has no holes but it really doesn't matter.
I ended up only needing one disc for the entire piece and there was still plenty of grit left on it when I was done. That all said, I highly recommend these pads to anyone looking for a grit lower than 60 for their random orbital sander. They work great. If you use my method of attachment you will have no trouble. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they really should just make a separate one for hook and loop attachment. I will definitely be purchasing more of these when needed.
