6 1/2 Inch blades go dull faster than 7 1/4

I used Diablo blades in both my 7 1/4 and 6 1/2 circular saws and notice the blades on the 6 1/2 circular saw seem to go dull quicker. Is this because of the design of the smaller thinner blade is not as durable as a 7 1/4 or just the lack of power in the 18 volt saw does have as much power when the the blade goes just a little dull.
Asked by: Joe
In my experience the blade does not dull faster, but there is a difference between battery and corded saws. The blades all lose the original "new hone" but it takes a greater toll on battery tools. I used a new battery and it cut faster and better

Can this blade cut aluminum extrusion, eg- 1 x 1 x 1/16 square tube? Or x 1/8 wall?

What would be better (for a cordless circular saw. Or a 7 1/4 in miter saw)?
Asked by: RW1257
Can cut drywall, will not last long cutting aluminum.

Would this blade be appropriate for cross cutting teak boards? The boards are only about .6" thick and 2" wide.

Asked by: MTA
The blade is certainly up to the task, provided your saw is. I have cut many board feet of Real Teak with Diablo blades, but never with this model. Back then, I used a table saw or radial arm saw. Teak is very hard, oily and abrasive. The carbide tips of diablo blades are as good as any, so they will do the job. The only question is, does you saw have the power? Since these blades are typically used in cordless saws, you may have to go slowly. If you are using a corded saw, particularly a track-guided saw, then you will have no trouble!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite what I expected I got this blade to upgrade the blade that came with my Ryobi 6-1/2 inch cordless circular saw. It is better then the original blade but not at the level I expect for Diablo blades. They generally out preform regular blades by a long shot. But this one is only a little better to me and I would have still brought it and saved it until the original blade was worn out. Instead of putting on right away. But given the amount I use my saw it would have been on the saw in a month or two.

I've been using diablo blades for seven years now and every one of them is great, especially when you consider the reasonable prices. This is no exception. I use these in my cordless circa-saws for fast trimming and cutting down sheet goods. It leaves a smooth finish requiring only the lightest touch up with a sanding block or plane.

With the blade having a very thin kerf less battery is used and lees wear and tear on the saw. This is the second blade on this saw and when it wears out I'll buy another one.

I'm replacing planks on my dock, and this blade made it so much easier to cut through the boards. It makes a nice smooth, clean cut. It costs a little extra, but it's well worth the money. I would definitely replace it, if and when it wears out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for battery operated saws I use the 18v makita saw and I switch between this and the fine tooth blade for 2x lumber. Dulls fast when used through old framing and nails, but otherwise stays sharp for a long time and the thin kerf on Diablos saves on battery life.

I got the Diablo blade to replace the included blade on an inexpensive cordless circular saw. I was going to throw the saw away if the blade did not help. Now it is one of my favorite tools! What a difference a good blade makes.
