Yes it will. I am putting in a new floor on my 16' trailer using 2x8's and 2x10's and it goes right through them in one pass.

This blade was designed to cut plywood, but, yes it would cut 2x6's. The problem is that it was not designed to do that. I think your saw came with an 18 or 24 tooth blade that is designed for cross cutting 2x stock. If it did, use that blade.
Anytime you use a tool in a way that it was not designed to be used, you put a strain on the tool, and in this case, the blade, too. Home Depot offers a 24-tooth Read More

Anytime you use a tool in a way that it was not designed to be used, you put a strain on the tool, and in this case, the blade, too. Home Depot offers a 24-tooth blade in its Diablo brand for around $10. If it was me, I would spring for the extra $10. Read Less

There are blades with more teeth on them that are designed to cut paneling without tearing it up.

Has anyone cut paneling with this 40-tooth blade successfully?

Answer:
A plywood blade would perform better in paneling than this blade, however, the life will be greatly reduced as plywood blades do not have carbide tips.

Answer:
Hi, RW1257 - The Diablo 6 ½” x 40T blade is not recommended to cut non-ferrous materials. However, we do sell a 6 ½” x 48T metal cutting blade that will cut non-ferrous metals as well. The Part number is D0648F. We do not recommend putting a 7 ¼” blade on a miter saw either. Please either use the D1084L or the D1296L depending if the miter saw is a 10” saw or a 12” saw.

Answer:
This is not a metal cutting blade. You want to look for a blade made to cut non-ferrous metal, that should cut through aluminum.

Hi MTA, if your not cutting a lot of boards, this will be fine. I would prefer you were cutting on a table sawing and using a larger blade with more teeth.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great saw blade Great smooth cuts, great product to own also good price for the product July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Business owner One of the best plates of ever used bar none long-lasting I'm a contractor I use it almost every day I'll give it my top rating and I would always buy this particular blade July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cuts like a hot knife through butter I wanted to trim the edges of my 2x6 deckboards and was contemplating on this one or the $10 24T one. I decided to pay an extra $10 and go with this one. I'm glad I did. This blade went through the 2x6s with much ease (really does cut like a hot knife through butter) and with almost laser precision cut on the edges. Really happy with how it turned out. July 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Blade This was recommended for cutting bead-board (aka wainscoting) sheets. Cuts were clean and straight through a relatively soft material. Clean enough that joints were invisible after installation. Of course I'm a rank amateur at home projects so take my review with a grain of salt based on my level of inexperience. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Blade I wanted to cut a desktop that I couldn't cut on my saw table. A clean cut was very important. This blade's performance was excellent. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great finish blade I have been cutting 3/4" melamine coated particle board for cabinets. This blade is awesome. I am using it in a Dewalt 20 volt saw. The thin kerf helps the battery life and the 40 tooth blade makes very clean cuts. So far I have made around 40 feet of cut and no noticeable loss of sharpness. Some of the blades with less teeth cause chipping of the melamine coating but not with this one. February 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Blade makes the Saw! Fast, baby-skin smooth crosscuts. This is the one to get! It's a Freud, Stop looking, buy it! July 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow, crazy sharp! Very new to wood working. I have a cordless dewalt 20v max circular saw that this blade went on. I've made quite a few cuts with the original blade that comes with the dewalt and after switching to this... the first thing I cut was a 2x12x8 piece of solid oak and WOW, feels like I was cutting through butter! This blade is sharp!!! It completely changed the way my circular saw handles... absolutely fantastic. Love it! December 10, 2015
