Answer:
Howdy Harvey,
If you are using a circular saw it will most likely be a chore. A table saw could work but still have mixed results.
A saber saw or jigsaw would work better but be very loud.
The best way is to use a cutting wheel/diamond blade on a grinder. These have a much faster speed and are quieter.
Happy cutting,
Coach Dave

Answer:
It can cut "mild steel". It probably depends on the density of the steel bar.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Saw Blade!!! I've been cross cutting 4" by 4" I Beams with almost 3/8" flanges and the saw blade chewed right through all the material and had no problem when it came to the center web of the I beam. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Had a big project where I was cutting steel shelving legs, tried 4 different blades, and these outperformed the competition by a large margin. One of these blades lasted about as long as three of the competition. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It did the job well I purchased this blade to cut through some sheet metal. It did the job easily enough. I ended up cutting through 20 or so sheets and it didn't skip a beat. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cut thru metal Cut thru metal Door Like butter - I was worried about flying metal cuttings, but actually it was very controlled October 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cuts smooth Only have 100 cuts or so on the blade as of now. So far so good. Cuts smooth and clean. Worth the money. October 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I purchased this product to cut 1/8 soft metal uni-strut for a project. I am a union carpenter and have experience with blades such as this. I used little effort and let the blade do the work, YET... it made less than 20 cuts before becoming absolutely USELESS!!!!! Do not waste your money on this blade. There are far better options that last much longer or at least cost a fraction of the price. I am not impressed with the short life span of this saw blade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! September 11, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not very good We use a lot of the Diablo blades in our work and they work well but have found this particular metal cutting blade to be inferior to others. We typically use a Lennox blade for our metal cutting and hopefully will not find ourselves short and needing to purchase any of these again. It took 3 of these blades to complete what one Lennox blade would do for the same money September 6, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fast at First I used the blade to cut rebar. It worked fine for the first 10 cuts and then quickly wore down. I'll go back to using a metal blade on my reciprocating saw. September 6, 2016
