Answer:
galvanized roofing is an inferior product. Cold cuts are considered a necessary for the pros because heat makes the zinc evaporate and you end up with rusted edges. Zinc melts at 780F and turns into gas at a mere 1665F.
Please make america great again and consider using aluminum or stainless.

Howdy Harvey,
If you are using a circular saw it will most likely be a chore. A table saw could work but still have mixed results.
A saber saw or jigsaw would work better but be very loud.
The best way is to use a cutting wheel/diamond blade on a grinder. These have a much faster speed and are quieter.
Happy cutting,
Coach Dave

Answer:
It can cut "mild steel". It probably depends on the density of the steel bar.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 45 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cutting Steel Door to Size I bought this to cut down a steel exterior door and frame instead of buying a custom door. I was shocked at how smooth the cut was. I expected some roughness on the edges but was surprised that it cut the steel as if the door had been made of wood. I will definitely find more uses for it now that I know what it is capable of. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saw blade It preformed well for cutting .060 steel sheets. I would buy again July 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by cut 10 feet of 1/8 inch mild steel I am not sure if I expected to much or not, but this blade quit cutting after I made 10 feet of cuts in 1/8 inch steel fence posts. I started out working fine, but my job was half done. June 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sick saw blade!! This thing should be called the steel beaver cause it just chews through steel! June 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My Favorite Blade This is my favorite saw blade of all my blades. I cut a lot of steel for different projects and this blade just amazes me every time I use it. This thing cuts through 1/8" steel like a regular blade through pine wood. Its amazing!!! I've used this blade on my Shopsmith table saw (works great), on my Skill circular saw (works great) and even with my work drive circular saw where it works great! I'm actually on my 3rd one of these now because I get SO much use out of them, but I've also been using them for years now. DO use safety goggles though as these do tend to make a lot of hot metal shavings that like to go flying towards your face. January 9, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Cuts great but broke within an hour It actually cut better than we expected but broke just after using it maybe within 30 minutes. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 7-1/4 in. x 48 Tooth Carbide Circular Saw Blade GREAT Product I wont buy any other blades if it doesn't say Diablo on it, I Love this quality brand. I went to HOME DEPOT because they carry this brand. I needed this blade to cross cut this beautiful spaulted maple wood and it cut like butter. Thanks Home Depot! Randy July 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk not worth the money I bought this Blade for cutting 1/8 steel plate for a truck bed I am building and it worked great for the first 6 feet. After 6 feet I noticed having to push a little hard and within 4 in of it getting hard to push it was throwing sparks everywhere. The blade was junk. I was not forcing the saw at all until it started acting up. When you spend $40 on a saw blade you would expect it to last more than 6 feet. I wish I could give this no stars but Home Depot thinks all their products deserve at least one star but it doesn't deserve it. September 2, 2015
