I was able to make several cuts with a single blade. I ran water on the blade while cutting, which helped keep things cool and prevented the blade from burning out. The only hard spot (not the blade's fault) was keeping it in the groove and avoiding bending it. It worked very well and was faster than any other method I can imagine.
Wear a dust mask and ear protectors, as it will make a ton of noise.

The blades cut reasonably fast considering we were cutting grade 8 bolts on spring shackles. These bolts cut hard with a grinder and a cut off wheel, but when there is not room for a grinder, a sawzall and a diamond blade does the job very well. These blades held up extremely well, we did not wear out the first blade until we had cut four bolts off.

Didn't have clearance for a cast iron pipe snapper, so I had to make due with this and my reciprocating saw. Worked well, albeit slowly. Cut through the 3" pipe cleanly, but it looks like I probably won't get much more use from the blade.

I bought these blades to cut through cast iron pipes, they will do the job but they take forever to get through a 1.5" pipe! I am I guess what you would consider an avid DIY and you are much better of to buy a small 4.5" grinder and put on some cheap metal cutting blades and deal with the sparks and smell of cutting them that way, much faster.

Used these cast iron cutting saw all blades under a house on 3" cast iron sewer line. I thought I would go through a few blades. Only used one blade and it cut through very easy. Time versus money these were way worth the price.
