Did Diablo discontinue this blade? I have not been able to find them in any of the Home Depots around me (northern VA).

Asked by: Jon
It has not been discontinued, but it is usually only available through online purchase. I purchased one online in May 2017.

cutting red brick- what speed is best when using a reciprocating saw and is water recommended?

Asked by: Spencer
I was able to use this blade cutting stone tile at the highest speed of a reciprocating saw. I didn't use water, per se, but I did periodically cool the blade by rubbing it with a wet towel throughout the cutting process.

9 in. Diamond Grit Cast Iron Cutting Reciprocating Saw Blade is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot knife thru butter Was skeptical if this was going to work on cast iron but after using it I am very impressed. So far with one blade I have made 6 cuts thru 3 inch cast iron pipe and 1 cut thru a 6 inch clay pipe and the blade still has most of the grit on it. I did however bend the blade on one of the cuts because I didn't have the cast iron supported enough and it pinched the blade in between. Other than that I am thouroughly satisfied and will be buying more in the future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts through cast iron drainpipe This is just what I needed to remove a leaking cast iron fitting. The blade made constant, steady progress cutting through a 1 1/2" cast iron pipe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cutting leaf spring mounting bolt I bought this blade based on what a few of the reviewers said. I did not work well for me at all. The diamond grit on the bottom of the blade was worn out by the time I was a third of the way cut. I used coolant when I was cutting. I am not sure who they are comparing there blades with when they say lasts 6 times longer. I bought a lennox diamond blade, it was a dollar more. I had made 3 full cuts and the blade still looked better afterwards than the diablo. I am out 16$ now that I could have spent on a lennox. I have to put it down as a learning experience because I had no idea if it would hold up. My money does not come easy and I have to work hard to get it. I will not buy one of these diablo blades again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 stars from a Fire Fighter Rescue Tech After blowing up a rescue blade cutting off a four inch hardened cast iron vent stack during a training exercise, we stepped back an did some tests of different blades. While breaking for lunch, I ran to HD to see what they had. Though it was costly, I grabbed it off the shelf. We mounted it in our 20v Dewalt saws all and headed down stairs to free a training dummy trapped in a building collapse simulation. 3 mins later, we were threw it like a hot knife threw butter. There was hardly any wear to the blade, and it will live to be used multiple times again!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4" Cast Iron Stack I used this blade to cut through an old 4" cast iron stack in order to add in a wye for a new drain line. It took me probably 5 minutes to the cut through the pipe. I stopped periodically and poured water on the blade to help keep it cool. The finished cut was straight and clean.
