Customer Questions & Answers

can this be used with a 5 inch makita angle grinder

Asked by: seher
Yes, this should be fine on a Makita. They both have a 5/8"-11 thread and Diamabrush even uses Makita tools in the videos they produce to demonstrate their products.

I bought this for removing thin set from concrete is some of the tight spots the rented floor polisher (with a similar style disk). The floor grinder was a waste of time compared to the 4.5" Diamabrush. The Diamabrush requires a pretty powerful grinder; I used it with an 11 amp Dewalt fitted with a dust shroud and it made for an easy job removing the thin set while leaving smooth concrete. I'd highly recommend it over using a floor polisher with the concrete prep too Home Depot offers for rental!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diamabrush It's tough to spend $150.0 on an abrasive tool and shroud for just 20 sqft of concrete floor, but I am really happy with the result. The tool removed the black mastic without too much effort, and not much dust. I used a wet sponge to keep the floor wet and blades cool, and had the shroud connected to my shop vac. Light semi circular motion with minimal pressure on the grinder, and with a few passes I was into clean concrete.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool I recently purchased the Diamabrush Hand Tool for removal of epoxy. I've been in the industry for 30 years. I have never seen a tool remove so quickly as this tool. It probably saved me 80% of the time it would normally take. It also left me a perfect profile for putting in a new flooring system. I highly recommend this tool. Worth every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Messy but awesome This drill bit is amazing. It stripped layers of paint and plaster off of the walls in my cinder block basement without damaging the cinderblock at all. (I had first tried a grinder which was destroying the cinder block) So no complaints on how this blade works. BUT BE WARNED: It took 3 of these blades to complete just a 20' wide 7' tall section of wall... and these blades are very expensive considering the burn out very quickly. But nothing else I found could do what these blades accomplished so I ended up paying. The other thing to know is that these blades are VERY messy. At one point I had to stop working because there was so much dust in the air I couldn't see my own hand. I would highly recommend using a grinder attached to a vacuum hose, but even then it's going to be very messy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This puppy did the job,,,, I bought the 4.5 " Diamabrush blade to remove Some Old Cutback [asbestos] vinyl flooring. I bought it with some misgivings, but after I used it, all my misgivings vanished. I, at first used my Milwaukee hand grinder, was way too fast, blade danced around. Fortunately I had a Milwaukee, variable speed polisher, a Big one. At a slower speed this blade did it's job efficiently and thoroughly. Hint, in the video it shows the guy laying the brush on the surface, I found it more effective to bite off the vinyl/cutback. Of course the old wood flooring will need some sanding. Also, It actually did not break any blades on some nails. Have some of that nasty flooring, this puppy will do the trick, it generates a ton of dust. Looked like I was smoking a pack of camels in my hall way. Have at Cowboys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1 garage floor - 1 day very happy with this tool - used it to remove coating from my garage floor. It's a single car garage, 26' x 11' All told, took about 6 hours with frequent breaks to vacuum up dust and clean the filter for the shop vac. Although tedious work, this tool made it much easier to deal with. Please remember to wear face masks and goggles.
