Simple installation overall, unless you need an electrician to install power. Took me about 2 hours total. I have a sub panel in my garage. On initial test it took 30 minutes to increase temp 6 degrees which I though was very acceptable. My garage slightly larger than unit designed for but I will be using only if working on a project.

It was good while it lasted, till the heating element went bad after 4 years only using it 3 months a year.
Dimplex would not sell me the replacement part but did send me to another supplier. That supplier didn't stock it but would order it for me for $65.00 plus shipping. Hopefully i'll choose my next heater more carefully?

We purchased this little heater for an area we partitioned off in a large detached garage to be used as a rental space. It has to stay above 40 degrees and is around 450 sq ft. This product seemed like it was a perfect match based off the online description. When the box arrived, I was worried that it seemed a little small but I quickly realized I was wrong. This little heater is super heavy duty and you can tell it is high quality. We had our electrician buddy rig up the 220 and install this guy and we are very pleased with the results. Even on the lowest setting, this thing pumps heat out like that's it's job (which I guess technically it is). The adjustable heat settings are a plus too since we don't want the thing running constantly. I haven't seen our first electric bill but am still in awe of this little guy's power!

I bought this to make it more comfortable while working in my 575 sq ft garage. Using the btu calculator this unit doesn't quite put out enough btu's to efficiently heat the space, but I decided to try it anyway. Tho it doesn't get up to 70 deg out there, it makes it comfortable enough to work in, while the outdoor temps are below freezing. Obviously it can get a little pricey if use it daily, so I just turn it on a couple hrs before I go out there. It runs most of the time, but again, it is small for the sq ft. Overall it does what I want it to do.

Purchased to slightly warm up the center of a winter horse barn. Surprisingly small unit and heat output nominal. Although rated at 17K BTU, feels like standard 5000 BTU portable heater. Noticeable increase in monthly electric bill even though using sparingly.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cryding Small in size ... but does a great job
We were SHOCKED when the unit arrived. We expected it to be much larger in physical size (and we were okay with that, as this is being used in a commercial building), so we are delighted that it is not huge, as it looks much nicer than we thought it would. I am pleased with the appearance, the effectiveness and the price.

This unit looks like it should be a sturdy unit but after hooking it up the fan not work. I returned it for a credit refund.

This heater is the exact boost I was needing in my house. The built in thermostat is by no means perfect, but due to wiring directly to the heater, you can run it through a thermostat first. I rate a 4 and not 5 because it didn't mention mounting bolts not included. Trips back to town cost too much gas. That aside, I would recommend it to friends with wiring knowledge.
