Follow the directions in the Owners Manual that came with your stove on pages 8 & 9. Have the "A" switch pressed to =. Make sure that the ON/OFF switch is pressed toward ON. I always use the remote, but you can reach behind it at the very top and click it on with a switch just like a light switch.

Answer:
Sorry to tell you this, Home Depot associate that answered this question... you are wrong. You cannot turn on the heat from the remote. You only turn the flame on or off with the remote. There are no flame adjustments. I have answered how to turn on the heat and maintain that level of heat in another answer. Please read that for more information.

Answer:
The remote controls only the flame - on or off, nothing in between. The heat is turned on by a switch in the back. There is a round know that controls the heat level - turn it to where you might want the heat and when it reaches that warmth, go to the knob and turn it back till it clicks. It will maintain that level of heat. If you want it higher, turn the knob up; same with lower - turn it the other way Read More

The legs are molded of a thick heavy plastic. I feel they are quite sturdy. The unit is nearly 60 pounds so the legs have to be sturdy.

Several reviewers and product descriptions mention ambiance, but none specifically state whether or not their electric fireplaces/electric stoves make that wonderful sound of wood burning.

Then I placed the mp3s on a SD card and inserted in the mp3 player and set it very near the stove. Oh, it's perfect now. I had purchased a fireplace crackle box online for $40 and it was just awful. The sound it makes is a short loop with 2 loud thumps every 7 seconds - it really is awful and I returned the unit immediately. But the popping sound makes a world of difference in the enjoyment I get from the fireplace/stove. Read Less

I'd describe mine as cranberry with hint of raspberry undertone. Bought sight unseen it was a little less cranberry than I expected but attractive just the same.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasing to the eye- great addition to living room The stove looks great and adds a very nice warm color to the room. The stove has no problem heating the living and the dining room very well. There is virtually no sound, just the pleasing "flicker" and the nice warm air blowing across the room. Thinking about adding one to the master bedroom just so I can watch it as I fall asleep. December 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is a quality product! We love this stove for it's solid performance......looks great and works flawlessly!! Thermostat adjustments are wonderful and realistic flames make for a delightful atmosphere!!! December 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking fireplace stove! The assimilated fire and logs looks great. The heat element works well. I really like the deep red shiny color of the unit. I would recommend this product. There was no assembly required of this product and was easy to immediately set up and run. December 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this stove! I ordered this online after reviewing other reviews on it. Received it last night and I have to say I am amazed at how realistic looking the "flames" are. The unit is nicely sized, quiet, and easy to move around. I purchased it in "cranberry" but would say it leans more towards dark cranberry in color, which is even better in my bedroom. Looking forward to many nights ahead with it! November 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very nice So far, so good - we had decided to purchase this stove since a few other people had noted theirs had lasted a long time. We have had it for 2 weeks, works as advertised and looks great. November 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't work! This is a beautiful looking stove and I really wanted it, especially since it comes in Cranberry, but the heater/blower doesn't work. I have followed all the instructions about setting/resetting it but nothing I do can get it to work. So I am returning it soon and will replace it with another brand. This stove was hard enough to come by because I believe Dimplex is not making it any longer, so those few that are left may be left over for a reason - they don't work! December 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE IT This is our second Dimplex electric stove. Have had the first one for 10 years. Still works although the flames have stopped flickering and it would have cost too much to replace that motor. A well made product and a reliable company. December 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I recommend this product! Great at taking the chill out of the room. It's feels really cozy at night with the tv on and the 'fire' going and the logs and flames look almost real. Love the remote and the fact that you can dial back the amount of heat or turn it off completely but still have the fire going! We have turned it on almost every night since purchasing it.
