I'm not sure why there are so many good reviews here. It's on that basis that I tried this one, but it's going back and here's why.
Pretty simple actually - it doesn't pick much stuff up because it doesn't have much power. Small, light debris like lint or thread from clothes on carpet, *might* eventually get picked up if you pass slowly 2-3 times. But that's extremely annoying.
On the plus side, the design is nice, and the charging cradle works well.
Vacuums like this are basically tiny hand-vacs with a long handle and so aren't really useful. Get a real vacuum for about the same price. You might say this is good for quick, small cleanups, but no; that's like saying dull scissors are good for quick cutting tasks...if it doesn't work right, it's useless.
Also I note this has an old Ni-Cd battery. No reason for that except it's a slight bit cheaper compared to Ni-Mh, which would give at least twice the run time. This thing's 10 min. duration could be a problem sometimes. Ni-Cd batteries were state of the art in 1990 or so! Unfortunately it's 2015. I can understand not going to Li-ion because that puts it into a different price point.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DDHATR Sucks Okay, Battery Also Sucks
Have had two of these. The first one died completely after about 4 months in 2010. It wouldn't charge or anything. Dirt Devil sent me a second one as mine was still on warranty. The second one took four months to arrive! It has now been six months on my second AccuCharge, and the battery will no longer hold a charge. Once "fully charged" it only lasts about 2 minutes (literally), and there is no way to replace the battery. Also, don't let the small size of the dust cup to discourage you. This is because the dust cup will only get about 1/4 full before there is no suction due to the filter clogging up. I have to clean the cup and filter twice per week (I vacuum everyday due to a cat) with my shop vac as simply dumping out the cup does nothing to clean the filter and improve suction. The small battery operated stick vac is a good idea, but this one falls way short. My advise is to spend the money on a better one (Dyson or Hoover).

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mbmbba Great little vaccum. Perfect for the single male
It's exactly what a single male needs to get rid of those dust bunnies. It is very light and easy to manage. No need to worry about the electric cord due to battery charged. Great for carpets and hardwood floors etc. Very easy to assemble and empty.

This quality product has cyclonic suction and power. It is well designed and technically sound. It is a great little power house to do quick and easy vacuuming around the house. A super buy.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bgatlin Fine design, poor performance
I bought this in March 2014 and loved it for the easy storage and charging and the quick, efficient cleanups of hardwood floors with scattered rugs. But after a few months, either the battery or the charger (I suspect the charger) failed. A 'full' charge would run the motor at a useful speed for about two minutes. But discharging the battery nearly completely, I was able to get a good charge a couple of times. This makes me suspect the charger rather than the battery. Now, nearly a near after purchase, I cannot coax any usage at all out of it. It's such a clever device otherwise, but the battery/charger makes it a failure. Too bad. I really liekd ti.
