Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very loud Haven't installed the alarm yet, but did a test in the house. So loud it hurt my ears. September 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it is supposed to do. I purchased two of these alarms. I was about to return them because I could not get the remote to recognize the base unit. The instruction sheet is not very clear. My friend and I decided to try one more time. We figured out that the button on the remote has to be pushed while the base unit is flashing. They both work fine now. I would have given this a 5 rating except for the fact it needs a revised instruction sheet. TMAC2 - anyone installing this kind of equipment should know that small screwdrivers are always needed. A jewelers kit has all the small flat blade and philips head screwdrivers you would need. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mr We p8urchased the Doberman Security Wireless Door Alarm With Remote Model # SE-0119. It may be the best in the world, but we'll never know. There are two major problems with the system. The 1st problem is a lack of a instruction manual with the SE-0119. The 2nd problem is the worst. When trying to replace the CR2032 battery in the remote you have to have a special ultra small phillips screwdriver to remove/replace the screws. After buying one, I removed the screws fairly easily. However, it is virtuall impossible to put them back in. I tried for over an hour and still have not gotten either one in. Whoever designed this product should have thought of the consumer and used larger screws. TMAC March 19, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't work at all I had multiple chirp alarms that I traded in for this one, I only needed one. I thought it would be just as efficient including the remote to set it from the outside ,after I left home to go to work. You could hear the unit responding to the alarm remote; but when you opened the door the alarm didn't sound. Armed or Disarmed....it wouldn't do anything when you opened the door. Tried new batteries and even reprogramming. I expected this device to at least warn me of intruders or warn them to stay away. It disappointed me. Nice concept....but it was a fail. I'll be returning it. April 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works great It works just fine for me! Just make sure the frame around the door is pretty flat and flush with the door itself. The batteries it came with ran out within a month, but it's easy to change those. The flat circle battery that is in the remote hasn't died yet for me, so I can't review that part of it. My only issue so far...It just went off for no reason while I was sitting on my couch by myself, at night time. Scared the living Christ out of me. Wasn't an earthquake, and no one opened the door. Maybe it's just feeling sensitive; but it scared me. Not okay :( September 29, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor quality and even poorer customer service! DOBERMAN PRODUCTS i bought 3 of these not all at one time, every unit i got failed within 60 days. bought replacement batteries not cheap, same problem, could not communicate wirh door unit via remote. returned to home depot twice. next one same thing paid to have it shipped to factory, they said batteries were bad and would replace and ship it back to me, they did. only with a brand new unit, this failed in less than 60 days. they said they would not refund money!!!! they are selling defective equipent and gettting away with it. this refers to doberman products not home depot!!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Reliable Got 3 of these for the doors in my parents' house to prevent my Dad from wandering off. There seems to be a delay after activating them before they are truly armed, but other than that they worked ok for the first month or two. Now after 3 months, 1 has lost it's programming with the remote. The second either randomly activates (falsely) in the middle of the night, or worse yet it often does not activate at all when the door is opened. No peace of mind in that, so they're going to be replaced. December 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Win! Totally freaked out creepy handyman that opened my door without permission. It's super easy to install and does exactly what it's supposed to do -- it totally freaked out the creepy handyman that opened my door when I was not home. That's right, creep, you have to ask permission to enter my apartment! (Not only is it the law, it's not going to be fun for him to snoop anymore.) It's good and loud and it has worked fine for over two years now, no problems. Totally worth the money! August 11, 2014
