We are taking a cruise and we've been booked in balcony cabins, adjoining - my two toddlers and teenager in one room, us in the other. I want to set something up to be sure that the balcony door in their room is not opened without us knowing. The whole situation is making me nervous but the trip was a gift so I hate to complain. Do you think this alarm would work on sliding glass doors on a balcony cabin on a cruise ship? Thanks!

Answer:
It may not work for sliding door because you need to place the sensor wedge between the door and the frame. In that case, you may not be able to close the door completely.

Answer:
Hello dari,
According to Doberman, the alarm is triggered when the sensor placed between the door and the jamb senses vibration. Specifically that of the door being opened. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great. No messy installation! Bought 2 to alert me if my 96 yr old dad tried going outdoors. Needed something simple to use and did not require installation. These portable alarms fit the bill perfectly. Haven't needed to be awoken yet by alarm but sure it is loud enough. Hangs off the doorknob and has insert for the door frame wires in the body when not in use. These are perfect! January 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT I have a 3 year old that learned how to work the dead bolt. I put this alarm on my door at night and it works awesome. Rather than putting another lock on that the kids can't do, which is dangerous in the case of a fire for instance, I put this alarm on my door. It is simple to use, plenty loud enough, about the same as a smoke alarm, and it's small so you can take it or install it anywhere. I can't say enough about this product, it's great and a very good price too for the peace of mind you get. I just put in a rush order for a second one for my back door! May 14, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value for price paid This little gem is great for what I needed. My mom wanted to feel more secure in her senior complex since master keys exist. Yes, she, and we, want someone to be able to enter if she is incapacitated but for her piece of mind, this will warn of all night entries, authorized or not! This alarm is just what she needed. The flashlight is an added bonus! March 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well, low cost, compact, not too loud Works well, low cost, compact, not too loud. I didn't want one too loud, and at 95 dcb this is plenty loud enough to wake me. However, if you want it to be heard by others in a hotel/house, a 110-120 dcb one should be better. October 9, 2012
