Answer:
Yes, it will still collect barnacles. The only way to keep that from happening would be to pull it out of the water when not in use. We do have a flip up version in the works that will be available soon.

Answer:
Hello, some ladders will pick up barnacles depending on electrolysis in the water. I would suggest going with a flip up version to keep in out of the water when not in use.

The other model td-20260 claims 6063 marine grade aluminum. Does this use the exact same marine grade aluminum? Also is the main difference between to two is that this model has 14 inch wide steps and the other has 12 inch wide steps?
The two spec sheets do not compare dimensions directly with each other. For example this claims to have an overall width of 16 inches with steps that are 14 inches wide but the other model claims a width of 19.75 inches which does not make sense if it has 4" wide by 12" long steps.

Answer:
Yes the aluminum is exact same marine grade. The steps is the only difference. The wide steps are 4" in terms of depth, and width of the ladder is 14". So the depth of the steps are 4", width is 14" and the distance between each step is 12"
