In the installation instructions it stated that we need to drill holes in the threshold , which in our case is our tub. We have a cast iron tub and we drilled 2 holes, but that chipped out tub paint.
Did we understand it wrong? do we really need to drill holes in the tub or we did it wrong?
We needed holes to install the guide block (12) (see page 10 in the installation guide and see attached picture).
12. Drill the holes for the Guide block
(12) and the Threshold bracket
(16) using Ø 1/8” drill bit.
Apply silicone to the bottom of the
Anti-splash threshold (15) and
place it back into the designated
position. Fasten the Guide block
and the Threshold bracket to the
shower base or threshold with the
Round head screw ST4.2×25 (17).
Cover the holes with the provided
decorative plugs.
See Fig. 14 for details.

Please let me know if that is correct.

I'm trying to figure out if this has two sliding doors so you can open it from the right and the left (so you can enter from the shower end or the back), or if one door is stationary and the other slides (and so enter the tub only from one side).

Thank you.

Answer:
It is completely reversible for either a right hand or left hand opening, but one panel will always have to be stationary.

Dee, the Enigma-X has a stationary panel that does not move and a moving door panel. It is completely reversible for either a right hand or left hand opening, but one panel will always have to be stationary. Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful door cost was more than I wanted to spend BUT was worth every cent Great looking door that operates smoothly August 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tremendous bathroom enhancement!! Guests are stunned and amazed at the beauty and smoothness of this new door. It really sets off the quality of the overall bath restoration. August 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enigma shower door The door was installed on a complete remodel of our downstairs bathroom where we went from a fiberglass tub/shower enclosure to a tiled walk in shower. We selected this door because we thought it would give us higher end look in our remodel. We have had several comments on great the bathroom looks such as "it looks like a fancy hotel" or "it looks like remodel you would see on TV". The door has been installed for several months and opens and closes with ease. It is a solid and heavy door but not difficult to slide. I did install it with the help of a friend and it took approximately 5 hours for us to drill the holes (in ceramic tile), measure and remeasure bar length to make sure it would fit, etc. We followed the installation directions which were easy to understand. I do all my own remodeling and I would recommend anyone who decides to self install to download the instructions prior to purchasing to make sure the door will fit the size opening, the mounting studs are adequate and especially to make sure the mounting surfaces are perpendicular to the flooring or threshold. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks spectacular I have to say this door looks amazing. If you spent a lot of money on shower tile like me, just pay extra for this door--it really looks spectacular. I had a bunch of people over and everyone complemented the new shower door. Cons-like people said, only opens on one side but that doesn't bother me; also, even the professionals had a hard time installing it...I would not recommend trying to install it yourself unless you are a person that does this often. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dreamline Enigma Frameless doors These frameless shower/tub doors are absolutely beautiful. Very modern, very clean looking but installation can be tricky. The reason I only gave it three stars is because the package has some minor flaws that in my opinion need to be addressed right away. The set screws that secure the door track to the mounting brackets strip easily. In my opinion a door system with a price tag as this one should at least come with decent hardware. The bottom door track, a small rectangular piece wasnt cut with true sqare corners. The last issue i had was a small chip on the top corner of the stationary door. Its right on the bevel so i decided to leave it rather than start a replacement parts claim. The door system is heavy and awkward to carry. I strongly advise DIY people to use a second person whenever pissible. May 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this shower door! We looked for several weeks for a completely frameless shower door and finally decided on this one and I am glad we did. It is a very sleek look and shows off the tile job nicely which was our intention. The door slides extremely smooth and we have received several complements on this door. The directions are a little confusing but once you start installing you will understand them better. This is defiantly a two person job, the glass doors are extremely heavy. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Shower encloser is good for my project. That why I will pick it up again for next project too. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Quality Product Excellent product for the price and quality. Modern Feel! April 5, 2016
