Customer Questions & Answers

Do all Dreamliner doors come with the clearmax coating?

Asked by: Luis
DreamLine is in the process of producing all of our models with the ClearMax coating. If the model you are interested in has been produced with it on the glass, it will be clearly stated in the Product Overview for that shower/tub door. We checked the Mirage tub door entry on homedepot.com and it does not appear to have the ClearMax coating yet. If you have any other questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. Thank you for considering DreamLine!

Does this come in a full size, (shower, no tub) style?

Asked by: Salt
Yes, the Mirage is available in a Shower door size. The model number for that is SHDR-19607210-04. You can place that number in the Home Depot search field and it will come up for you. My may also be interested in our newly designed Mirage-X Shower Door. The model number for that is SHDR-1960723R-04 or SHDR-1960723L-04. If you prefer the Mirage-X shower door, you will need to designate if you would like the stationary panel on the right wall or the left wall, as noted in the photos. Please enlarge the photos so that you can see all of the features of the door that you choose. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. Does the installation require drilling into the tub? We have a cast steel tub and do not want it to chip.

Do the shelves HAVE to be installed?

I do not want the shelves, but like the more middle entry of the shower as my vanity would partially block the shower side entry. This would also allow to more easily bathe a child. The other model you mentioned - SHDR-1960582-01, does not have that middle entry. Do you have any other options if the shelves are not optional?
Asked by: jagirl
jagirl, Yes, the shelves must be installed as they are the source of support for that small panel. The DreamLine Visions shower door opens in the middle, but it is not as frameless as the Mirage. Another door to consider is the DreamLine Butterfly. You can put both those model names in the Home Depot search field and they will come up. If you have any other questions, please call the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866-731-2244 or via email at support@bathauthority.com. Customer Reviews

Mirage 56 in. to 60 in. W x 58 in. H Semi-Framed Sliding Tub and Shower Door in Brushed Nickel with Handle is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked well for about 8 months.... I wish I would have read the other reviews before purchasing this door. We installed this door as part of a bathroom remodel. It looks terrific, but over a period of 8 months or so the door became increasingly difficult to slide and has become VERY loud, it's as if the rollers are seizing up. It's now to the point that my 10 yr old cannot even open or close the door. I find it remarkable that Dreamline has not come up with a solution for this issue. Dreamline is sending me new rollers under warranty but it would appear that's the easy part, the hard part is left up to the customer to try and figure out a way to replace them. If it is true that I need to disassemble the door to install replacement rollers, that is beyond unacceptable!

First product arrived with absolutely NO instructions. It must have weighed 500 lbs and when we took it out of the box no one could figure out how the door went together. I would not recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top rate product Excellent product and first rate customer support. I only have one complaint, the Dream Line installation manual needs a little more work, but thanks to a friendly and knowledgable customer support staff I was able to complete the installation in a few hours. The shower door looks better than a professionally installed product and makes a huge difference in our upgraded bathroom. This product truly ranks a 5 star rating and I would sincerely recommend this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice modern door The door is frameless on top (not the bottom). I've read complaints about the support bar on other websites, but it can be cut down a few inches. With a darker tile it is really not that noticeable. The built in shelves are a nice touch. My contractor installed the door without any problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT PURCHASE WITHOUT LOOKING AT ALL THE PICTURES This was the worst decision I made, just looking at the first few pictures on this website I did not notice the support bar. Since there is insufficient support for the heavy glass there is a big ugly support bar that must be installed from the door to the wall of your shower or your glass door will come crashing down. I called the company and there is no other option then this bar across your shower corner. There is a drawing of this on the last picture on here so make sure to check out the drawing before you order.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful product A beautiful product. Exceptionally attractive. The installation manual is good but it's all line drawings, so it requires a lot of thought to implement. All it needs is a few photographs to go with the manual or online at the support link. Tip that should be in the manual. When you try to install the moving door, which is the heaviest, on the two screws of the rollers, put a small but strong stand in the tub to rest it on and add a big book or so till you have the holes in the glass raised near the level of the screws. Then you only have to lift it once. Now, tilt one side of the glass up and put on a bolt. Then tilt the other side up and put on a bolt. Now that you've got the weight supported, take off one bolt, lift the glass a bit, and slide on the plastic piece that cushions the glass against the screws and reattach the bolt. Do the same with the other side. Remember to keep the top in place until you slip on the second part of the sliding attachment. You do need two people to install the sliding door. Even if you're a husky guy, you only have two hands.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very expensive door but very nice Ok, we wanted a frameless shower door and paid the extra $$ for this one. We orginally ordered it in chrome, and didn't realize we needed brushed nickel so there was another month waiting to get the one we needed. It's a beautiful door, however be aware that it is not TOTALLY frameless. There is a (2 1/2"-3") bottom frame. The top portion is in fact frameless. I'm not sure if it's worth the money. I'm glad we have it, but would have felt it was REALLY worth it if it was about $150 less than what we paid (over $700).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Engineering Design Must admit that this shower door is heavy duty construction. However, the brush nickel finish does rust a little after a year or so. Very difficult to clean especially between the two doors where they overlap and down where the roller, door and bottom rail meets. But the kicker here is the roller and bottom rail design. The door is extremely heavy and so the rollers will wear out after a year. Now get this. The rollers cannot be removed from the bottom rail without totally dismantling the entire door system. If you don't believe, call their technical support just to inquire. So, if the stationary wall panel is silicone in place that has to be cut away as well as the silicone used to seal down the bottom rail. This is bordering on ridiculous. If you cannot replace the rollers yourself, it's like paying for an installation all over again each time the rollers go bad. Didn't realized this when my door was installed. Realized when they sent me new rollers under the warranty and had to devise a way to replace them. Because these issues, I would not recommend anyone buying the model door. Stay away.
