Can this be modified to fit a 53.75" opening?

We have a 53.75" opening. Can this shower door system be used in this application? How much additionally would the glass overlap OR what would be the opening now be with the doors all the way open?
Asked by: Homedepotshopper
I don't thinks so because it measurements start at 56 in and expand to 60 in, we choose this model because of the expanded and would fit in the area the old tub came out of.

Your specifications do not mention if the glass is the type that has the coating on it that makes it easier to clean and stay clean?
Asked by: Jane
Great question, Jane! Unfortunately, the Visions is not available with our ClearMax coating at this time. The best defense against water spots and soap scum is to remove the water after showering using a squeegee or a soft cloth. Any other questions? Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Product, easy installation Easy to install with clear instructions to follow. The design takes care of any imperfection of your walls. The only "but" is that instead of 2 short and 2 long glass panels edge covers, I received 3 short and 1 long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shower Doors The shower doors are well made They make the shower. We love how they slide open in the middle and seal tight due to being magnetized.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Installation, Very Nice Looking You can't beat this unit for the price. It is relatively painless to install and looks great. I would actually give this product a 4.5 rating if I could. This unit consists of an inner frame that holds the entire door together and 2 outer mounting flanges that the inner frame slips into. This allows for some variation in width. The only negative is that the unit does not offer a glass coating to prevent water staining, but, you can purchase some over the counter products for under $35 that will do the job. The directions can be a little confusing especially about the top and bottom rails which are identical. Here's the way the directions should read. Measure your opening at the top and bottom to ensure they are identical or at least close to identical. If not, use the smaller of the 2 measurements. Measure the rails to ensure they are also identical in length. If the rail plus 3 1/2 inches is greater than the opening, you must cut equal amounts from each rail end. Example: Opening = 60" Rail = 58" 58 plus 3 1/2 = 61 1/2" 61 1/2 minus 60 = 1 1/2" 1 1/2" divided by 2 = 3/4" You will need to take 3/4" off each side of the top and bottom rail..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice style I love that these doors slide open. The style is modern and unique. I do not like that each door panel has a strip of plastic running down the edge to keep water from coming in. While I understand this is necessary, it definitely interferes w the frameless "look" and some of the plastic on my doors is warped and bent oddly. My eye is immediately drawn to those warped areas and i can't stop looking at it. I keep trying to bend it back but it's not staying. May try to warm it up w a hair dryer next. The doors also overlap a bit, also taking away from any frameless look but maybe that is just the size of my shower. If it were a few inches wider maybe it wouldn't overlap as much? The rest of the bathroom is not done yet so I can't comment on the actual usability.
