The gate is really sturdy. The opening in not really wide though. I dont like that the latch sticks a little and you have to wiggle it in order to pull it up and open it. But that is really the only issue. I think its because it is tighten really hard. It is really easy to put together. I was kinda confuse when purchasing one because I have a 44in opening so I ordered this one because the other ones said that you needed extensions but they were not included. Needless to say, I only use the 3 in ext. It looks really great and I am glad I purchased two!!

This is a terrific sturdy gate, but keep in mind there are only 2 extensions for the two gates. I thought the package include 4 extensions -- 2 each for 2 gates. If you need 2 gates, it would more cost effective to buy the gate that has 2 extensions included. Two of those gates costs less than the package and purchasing additional extensions.

This security gate is nice to look at and it blends in well with my walls. However, no amount of adjusting/readjusting will get the gate to latch close!

At first I was weary of the cost as this is a very expensive gate, but after receiving the gate and installing it I am a believer. The gate came neatly packed and with a basic set of very simple setup instructions, from delivery to done it was about 20minutes. One nice feature about the gate is the wall mounted pucks that make taking the gate down and setting it back up very fast and also protects the wall from the damage I have experienced with other pressure mounted gates. The gate has so far handled my 2yr olds attempts to pry, kick, ram, and climb her way past it with great success, it also works great at keeping my two dogs out of the living room. The basic functions of the gate are easily handled with a baby in one arm, to open the gate you just pull up and swing it open with one hand, in addition to being easy to opperate you can also give it a light push down when it is closed and it will lock it shut which will require you to slide the lock tab back to swing it open again but still very easy with one hand. the automatic shut is nice and does not require a big swing to secure itself, just normal passage through and it will quietly close itself tight.
Overall I would say this gate it worth the investment and is a welcome addition to our home, I am actually writing this review while ordering another one to replace an older gate we have at the other end of our hallway.
