Answer:
I was able to cut cement backer board with it easily enough however it might struggle with tile as I have found that carbide bits will wear quickly depending on the type of tile. You could try it, but I recommend keeping the tile and the blade wet with a spray bottle to keep it cool and extend the life of the carbide. Since its an electrical tool, you also need to be careful to keep the tool motor away Read More

Hi there scott,
This particular blade is designed to remove the grout from existing tile jobs. If you are looking to cut actual tile, then I suggest using a Wet-Saw if the tile is not already installed, or the EZ Lock Diamond Cutting Wheel seen below

Hi Kathy,
This blade is for the Dremel Multi-Max 2.3-Amp Oscillating Tool. It and the other blades shown
fit this tool only. They will not fit your earlier model Dremel tool.

Answer:
It shouldn't damage the tile edge if used properly. The blade just wears the grout away. Of course, the grout joint has to be a straight line.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great While Sharp! Blade works well when sharp but dulls quickly. Went through 3 of these removing grout from average-size shower. HD price point is double the online price at Amazon, but when you need it now...you need it now! Make sure to wear a mask & eye protection as dust will be HEAVY and small pieces of grout will be flying around! While pricy to get the job done (especially at HD), this will cut labor time way more than half and should allow you to get most all of the old grout removed as opposed to begging to get to the 2/3rd's point when using a manual grout saw! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Regrouting kitchen floor Cuts through grout good. I also cut excess thinset. Two blades did the job of 375 8" tiles. That's 1000" feet of 1/4" sanded grout I removed. June 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great solution for cutting straight edges in cement backer board As part of a bath remodel, we added a shower niche and I was trying to figure out how to cut a straight edge into the cement board so I could get a clean cut edge for the shower niche. Had a grout blade for the Dremel that came with the tool and since it is carbide tipped I thought I would try it out. The result was a very easy way to cut the cement board with a clean edge. I just hung the board, marked the position of the shower niche that I had already framed and used the grout blade to plunge cut the cement board with excellent results. I was even able to use the section I had cut out for the back of the shower niche. The blade also made easy work of the cement board sections I needed for the internal sides of the niche. Since it is an oscillating saw blade, there was very little dust either. Great tool for the job and I found that the blade was a lot easier to precisely control than a rotozip carbide bit. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what you need on the small tiles in a bathroom. don't try to do this by hand it's hard enough with the power oscillator the tool work as described and made the job extremely easy to get completed March 25, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Grout attachment Worked great for removing old grout from backsplash, also worked for cutting boxes in for durarock. December 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hopes were too high Worked fine as a grout removal blade, but it will not cut through ceramic tile (which is what I needed). Although I can say that it with stood quite a bit of abuse. October 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Time saving tool for grout work With my oscillating tool this blade made short order of grinding out old grout and prepping for regrouting. I saved time, money and aggravation with the right tool. October 20, 2015
