Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be used with the straight edge guide?

I was looking at the package at my local HD and it says to only use it with the plunge router attachment but could it be used with the 678-01 Circle Cutter & Straight Edge Guide? I don't see why it couldn't but maybe someone can provide a more technical explanation if it could or not be used with it.
Asked by: JR
The router bits are only to be used with the 335-01 plunge router or 231 router table. The 335-01 plunger router does include edge guide and circle guide.

Cutting depth

What is the length of the actual cutting surface of the bit? Is it 3/4"?
Asked by: Chip
The flute length is about 7/16".

Do you have an attachment to control the depth of the cut for cutting door hinge, when using a ryobi door hinge template kit?

I do not want to buy a router to cut the hinges. Can you help?
Asked by: kwkw
The 654 Routing Bit can be used with the 335 Plunge Router attachment to rout the area. A Dremel, corded, variable speed tool will also be needed. For the safest and best performance, we recommend that Dremel products be used with Dremel tools.

I have a door frame that settled enough that the latch hole in the frame did not match the bolt from the lock (unless you forced the door up a bit). I wanted to move the latch plate down a bit to fix this. I could have used a 7/8" drill bit but that does not leave square corners and does leave an extra hole in the middle where the guide point goes. The original mounting of the plate was clearly done this way. I used this router bit in my Dremel and got a nice clean extension of the existing hole down where I needed it. The wood I was trimming was clearly they typical soft pine used in modern houses. This cut into it well and cleanly. This was just what I needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Routing Bit This routing bit was needed to make dove tails for some beautiful wood that was going up on the walls in our basement. We had our 90 year old father helping us with this project. He was so happy to be able to use the router and be involved. The routing bit worked perfectly. We also thought it was made well and stood up to routing a lot of wood well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little routing bit This Dremel routing bit is a great addition to my kit. I use it mostly to counter sink door hinges and locks. It is very sharp and durable and it certainly beats using a wood chisel.
