Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use this bit for carving sandstone and harder stones?

Asked by: Terry
I would say no butg I have never tried it, I use up a lot of these tools on wood and they don't last very long cutting wood so don't know what they would do on stone.

Can tungsten carbide blade cut through tile grout?

We need to replace a couple of porcelain floor tiles and need a blade that will cut through the grout. Will this tungsten carbide blade be able to do this.
Asked by: Chowhound
I would believe it would do what you are looking to do fine as long as you only have a few to cut.

1/8 in. Rectangle Shaped Tungsten Carbide Cutter for Steel, Stainless Steel, Iron, Ceramics, Plastics, and Hard Wood is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for mechanics I bought this a week ago. I needed to take a rusted nut off of a sway bar link end ... ya, that's right. You know what I'm talking about. I used the bit to flatten the shaft of the old ball joint SO THAT I could snap a pair of vice grips on it SO THAT it wouldn't twist while heaving on the rusted-on nut. It worked! Most importantly, the bit chewed off the steel to create the flattened surfaces I was looking to create. Limited space. Chewed it away like a cheese grater. This bit eats through steel. I'm going to try it for cutting away rusted steel for body work next. I'm imagining it will work even slicker for that application.

The product did better than I expected in grinding out a hug that had debre left in it from a bearing race that had melded to the hub. Had never used a drimel tool, borrowed my brothers, bought the grinding tool and it was fantastic. As a new user I wish the package had more explanation as to what tools are used for and on what materials to be used.

These would be great products if the quality of the workman ship was better. The tool lasts about 30 to 45 minutes of use and then it will no longer cut anything because the sharpness of the knurling is gone. If a better quality of steel was used it would probably last a lot longer and be a great tool.
