I purchased one because they had it on sale at Home Depot. I took it home and charged 1 battery over night. Then in the morning, I replaced the battery and put the new one in. I went to use it with a fresh battery. It turns on, then shuts off within seconds. Then the battery light flashes. I swap batteries, and the other battery does the same but it lasts for about 30 seconds before it starts flashing.
I went to return it to home depot, and they no longer had any in stock. I want to exchange it.. but there are none around anywhere.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Anonemouse I love watching the batteries charge.
As other reviewers have noted, the battery life is very poor. You only get a maximum of five minutes of useful work out of them before they need a recharge. Great idea, good build quality, but practically useless. Dremel has a reputation for quality and a price point to match, but this product is a major fail.

I was given this tool as a gift some time ago. I took it out of the package and I was excited. That excitement didn't las too long. My batteries will not keep a charge. I pull them off of the charger and in 5 to 10 minutes the tool is shutting off. I turn the switch off and them back on and notice that the battery lights are flashing. I swap batteries because the charger is right next to me. It does not take long for this battery to run out either. I wish I had the corded one. I didn't even know that was an option.

My wife bought me this for Christmas 2 years ago, the first time I used it was last summer on a project notching out a few boards. with a full charge on both battery's I started, the saw only lasted a total of 8 minutes that was for both battery's. Rather than taking the item back and hurting her feelings I stored it for smaller uses. Fast forward to now, I am remodeling our home, I can't run the machine more than half speed or it fails flashing all 3 lights. I would not recommend this to anyone and from reading the reviews I see it is a key issue with a lot of people here. I think you should do a recall.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Enigma Returned it for a corded model.
It came with two lithium ion batteries. One would not even hold a charge and the other only worked for a short period of time. Spent more time charging than working. I returned it for a corded model. It was nice that I could perform the exchange at my local store.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Charbel Great if it were not for the low battery life.
I bought this tool few weeks ago. When the battery drained I was not able to remove it. Took it back and got a replacement. Used it about 3times in 3 weeks. Now the battery will not last more than 2 minutes.
To go through a 2 by 4 joist and cut a 1 inch hole it took me 4 battery charges and had to wait about 30 minutes to get a decent charge.. Of 2 minutes.
Really bad. If I had my receipt I would have returned it. I am now stuck with a lot of bit for this tool but the tool is useless.
I hope Dremel can do something about this.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ronald Totally frustrated, continually stops
Love this tool when it works. Unfortunately, this is no more than a few minutes, or many times much less, before it just stops. Acts like an overheat but the tools been used little since new and doesn't seem to matter what the current task is, from very light cutting gypsum to more heavy work, but to be honest I can never keep it running for any length of time no matter what I'm doing. Totally frustrated because I'm doing a total Master Bathroom remodel and have frequent need for this tools' many great features.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Madasheckrightnow DO NOT BUY! BATTERY LIFE STINKS.
I bought this a couple weeks ago to under cut door jambs for my flooring.... one battery doesn't even last one side of the door jamb. Absolute garbage. This is why I usually one buy corded items.
