Customer Questions & Answers

How many batteries you provide with your Dreamel 12 volt Cordless Multimax Tool 1 or 2

How much capicity charging of this Battery in Amph & time of full charge is 60 minutes is it & how long can run on project if fully charged
Asked by: Anonymous
It comes with 2 but I do not recommend that tool. It does not last and after a while of extended use(over a year or two) the batteries are worthless, won't hold a charge and becomes more frustrating than a help. Get a cordless version or purchase the Fein multi-tool. My friend who is a professional "Handyman" has one. I used it and it's the "Cadillac" of the multi-tools. You don't need an allen wrench to change the blades, it's extremely powerful, it's corded and it cuts through dry and anything else like a hot knife through butter. I don't have one because it's a little expensive but as most of you know, "you get what you pay for!"

What accessories come with the basic Dremel mulit-max when purchased?

Asked by: Anonymous
It comes with the basic flat angle( l-shaped) and half moon cutting blades. It also comes with the velco tri-angle for sanding in the tight places but you can get additional attachments on sale or watch for coupons.

Is there a long handle to use when scraping up carpet residue?

Asked by: Anonymous
Not that I've seen but that would be a great blade to purchase if they have one. I recommend you contact Dremmel.

Why was the 12 volt multi max tool kit discontinued?

Asked by: Dutch
The 8300 Cordless Multi Max was discontinued for various business reasons. As of now there are no future plans to have a cordless oscillating tool in our product line.

Customer Reviews

12-Volt Max Multi Max Tool Kit is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool I have had my 8300 for a couple of years and use it for a variety of jobs where other tools just won't work. However it is now not running. It will run fine with no blade attached but when I attach the blade it starts then dies almost immediately. I wish it would still work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returned it for a corded model. It came with two lithium ion batteries. One would not even hold a charge and the other only worked for a short period of time. Spent more time charging than working. I returned it for a corded model. It was nice that I could perform the exchange at my local store.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Totally frustrated, continually stops Love this tool when it works. Unfortunately, this is no more than a few minutes, or many times much less, before it just stops. Acts like an overheat but the tools been used little since new and doesn't seem to matter what the current task is, from very light cutting gypsum to more heavy work, but to be honest I can never keep it running for any length of time no matter what I'm doing. Totally frustrated because I'm doing a total Master Bathroom remodel and have frequent need for this tools' many great features.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great tool, but not great batteries I received this for a Christmas gift from my wife. It was a great gift! But, when I started to use the product, as already noted, the batteries are BAD. One stopped to holding the charge and now the other is in the same state. So now I'm looking for replacement batteries, but since this was purchased in Dec., I doubt that HD will help in any way, but I have not made the call yet. Unless you really need a cordless tool, burchase a model with a cord. Maybe dremel will come out with a 18V. model...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Battery My wife bought me this for Christmas 2 years ago, the first time I used it was last summer on a project notching out a few boards. with a full charge on both battery's I started, the saw only lasted a total of 8 minutes that was for both battery's. Rather than taking the item back and hurting her feelings I stored it for smaller uses. Fast forward to now, I am remodeling our home, I can't run the machine more than half speed or it fails flashing all 3 lights. I would not recommend this to anyone and from reading the reviews I see it is a key issue with a lot of people here. I think you should do a recall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great if it were not for the low battery life. I bought this tool few weeks ago. When the battery drained I was not able to remove it. Took it back and got a replacement. Used it about 3times in 3 weeks. Now the battery will not last more than 2 minutes. To go through a 2 by 4 joist and cut a 1 inch hole it took me 4 battery charges and had to wait about 30 minutes to get a decent charge.. Of 2 minutes. Really bad. If I had my receipt I would have returned it. I am now stuck with a lot of bit for this tool but the tool is useless. I hope Dremel can do something about this. Thanks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from great features but either the battteries or charge I bought this 2 years ago and either the batteries won't charge or the charger isn't working. It worked great to sand and cut wood. The light on the charger doesn't come on so I think the charger is bad. I wish I would have bought a corded multi max.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY! BATTERY LIFE STINKS. I bought this a couple weeks ago to under cut door jambs for my flooring.... one battery doesn't even last one side of the door jamb. Absolute garbage. This is why I usually one buy corded items.
