Answer:
Yes it will. I suggest getting a template with the font(s) and/or design you wish to engrave, paste it on the tool on the location where you want to engrave, and then cautiously do your work. Afterwards you can remove the paper and glue with a simple adhesive remover or alcohol. Do this until you feel that you have become proficient with the tool and techniques. Good luck!

I use the Dremel Electric Engraver Tool to engrave manufacturers name and model number on tools. Note that If you use it on chrome plating the chrome plating will be damaged in the process (kind of like scratches).

Hi Cancun, yes this tool will engrave on tools. If the surface of the tool is real hard, you might want to consider using a diamond point, part number 9929. This diamond point is for continuous or commercial use. This engraver will work on steel.

Answer:
This is actually a hammer action tool, so grinding and polishing attachments will not work with this. It makes tiny indentations in a surface, which form lines. I use this in my granite engraving work. I'm not sure why this is listed as a rotary tool.

Answer:
Only use the accessories provided, or the accessory that is specified as an alternate (diamond tip) for this specific tool. Any other accessories will either not fit or may cause damage to the tool which may then void the manufacturer's warranty.

This is not a rotary tool and therefore no other attachments can be used on it. Consider other "Dremel Rotary Tools" for that usage.

Answer:
Yes it will. This is a vibrating engraver, so depending on the thickness of the acrylic you should not have any issues. I have used mine on very thin acrylic and did not have any problems. One hint I would give is make sure you have a smooth surface under your work to help prevent the possibility of cracking.

I was looking for a good engraver for engraving on my stainless steel tumblers with my business logo. I have had another one by another company and it quit working and it had a fixer engraving bit. Now this Dremel engraver came with a removable bit with I find was an added bonus! It has worked very well on my tumblers and it also worked well on hard plastic tumblers after I had used it on the Stainless steel! Great product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Engraver It is a very good engraver that comes with a letter templet to make your engravings look more professional. It also has a replaceable tip that means you don't have too buy a new unit when the tip wears out and makes it easier to sharpen the tip for longer life.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good tool for the price Finally got a chance to use my engraver and the only issue I have is the handle. It was mildly awkward to hold at times. Now keep in mind I have very large hands so that may have something to do with it. Overall I am happy with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works Okay For Wood Engraving I think the quality and value of this tool is good as well as the value and being made by Dremel I was able to use some of my other tips in order to put a "signature" on my wood pieces. It might be me but I had a hard time with the engraving; much depends on the hardness of the wood but overall it only worked okay for me. I ended up purchasing a burn in signature stamp that works better than this tool for my purposes. Maybe I'll find another use down the road. I would recommend this for those who have a steady hand and a good deal of patience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value and easy to use Read the instructions. Good tips on learning how to engrave.I practiced on flat washers before inscribing a number of gift ink pens. The user does need to install the engraving tip before first use. I have only engraved on metal. Great results and the adjustable stroke gives versatility on different hardness mateials.
