I wouldnt...
I found out that this model seems to be more right handed than my previous variable speed dremel. The speed switch is not suited for a lefty, being under the handle using left hand....the other unit I had the switch goes up and down, rather than side to side.
So using it on toenail's , if you can't see the variable switch, not a good idea.

Yes, have used on dogs for over 15 years. Haven't met a toenail I coulnt shorten. Be sure to keep drill moving over nail otherwise you will burn the nail.

Answer: 
We have several cutting wheels for metal; some are fiberglass reinforced. The newest one is the CBN metal cut-off wheel (it comes in two sizes). We do suggest to practice before the initial cut and keep in mind there is no way to control the depth of the cut because it is done free hand.

sure it can, just use a small cutoff wheel and a very steady hand (brace it with your other arm), cut in small increments as it can get away from you easily

Answer: 
Without knowing the type and strength of the metal it is a difficult question. In all probability you can use this tool to cut into it. I have used it to cut grooves in galvanized pipes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from my favorite tool I really love this thing...it does so much! There's all kinds of attachments and bits to keep me busy with my little projects. On the creative side it's fun from woodworking to glass-etching. On the fix-it side, it's come in handy for sharpening my lawnmower blade and removing stripped screws. There's so many applications! My only complaint is that you can only get replacement motor brushes directly from Dremel. I see Home Depot has motor brushes for other Dremel products but for whatever reason Dremel makes it difficult to acquire one for the 3000. It doesn't even list the part number on the website. I had to ask on the Dremel website's live chat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from why didn't I get one yeas ago I bought the Dremel for a specific task. Our vertical blinds have a weakness at the hanging point and I have to use a metal clip in order to rehang the blind. In the past I was using tin snips to make them fit and now with the Dremel I grind off the excess metal and it works like a harm. I've use it to sharpen my lawnmower blade and since I've onlky had it for a short time there wikllk be many more things to use it in.
