Rated 5 out of 5 by Dremel nails it for dog nails! Anyone who has used clippers on a dogs toenails will remember how uncomfortable it was for both dog and owner. The Dremel Pet Nail Grooming kit changes all that. As you can see our greyhound, Kiawa, just lays around while my wife sands the nails down. Honest - no anesthesia and no treats. The tool is easy to assemble and use. May 13, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by not great at a busy grooming salon, it loses power quickly, takes a while to charge, and gets stuck between gears...not what its made out to me July 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what I needed I may have a somewhat unique reason for needing a rotary tool to do my dog's nails. I know that many go with a Dremel because their dogs are afraid of the clippers, but my canine buddy has always been very well behaved and calm about nail trimmings. In my case, health problems have led to very weak hands with little muscle strength. I have a large dog with thick nails, and simply no longer have the hand strength to do more than take the tiny tips off his nails. As a result, they were growing too long, and I was unable to keep up with them. I read some reviews on various websites, and for a while I hesitated to purchase the product. I saw many positive reviews, but also people who that said this particular model didn't have a strong enough motor to do a large dog's nails. One "professional groomer", in fact, said that it was worthless for anything but a small dog and recommended a more powerful, and much larger, model. Due to that hand strength issue, though, I needed something small enough to hold comfortably, and which wouldn't cause me a problem with grip or vibration. As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about. My large dog with his thick black nails are not an obstacle for the 7300-PT. I only take a small amount at a time, but of course that is how one should do a dog's nails. The instructions say no more than three seconds contact per toenail, which makes visible progress, but doesn't grind off enough length to risk injuring the quick. My dog took to the tool right away, after a couple of days of introducing him to the sound and vibration with the use of praise and treats. After that, I took the approach of doing one toe per foot at each sitting, and four sittings per day. Each "installment" took a minute or two, and after several days, I had his nails where I wanted them. Subsequently, we have done touch-up once a week (Tuesday is "Toes-day" in our house) and the 7300-PT is doing a fine job of keeping his nails at a healthy length. The unit is light weight and small enough for my "compromised" little hands to grip and use without any discomfort. I have, to date, only had to recharge the battery twice in the month we have had it. I'm sure people with multiple dogs will have to charge more frequently, but I do find the battery life of the product to be more than adequate for our needs. I'm very happy I went with my gut and decided on this particular product. My dog is happy, too. July 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Adequate power, much nicer than clipping nails Bought this about a month ago, and very glad I did. My dog took a while to get used to the new noises and vibrations associated with doing her nails this way, but it's a better method than clipping. The product has adequate power and battery life for trimming all four paws. June 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent on big and small breed toenails This pet dremel was everything I had hoped it would be from the description. It can handle large toenails as easily as small, and with a long-lasting battery can get through several dogs if needed. One of the best purchases I made for my dogs. January 18, 2013
