Is this the older style dremel battery? The newer style has a different shape on the top and sides and doesn't fit well in my older style dremel. Which style is this?

Apparently there are at least two styles of Dremel 770 Type 1 7.2v tools. The one I have uses a No. 757 battery pack which, as the Dremel made obsolete many years ago, in turn making our Dremel tools useless. We either have to buy a new Dremel tool (can anyone say "planned obsolescence?) or figure out a way to take the battery pack apart and insert new batteries. I have had it for a while so would guess it is an older style. Have to match part numbers perfectly. I have two battery driven Dremels..battery packs designed very similar, but NOT interchangeable with each other.

This is the newer style battery though the photo Home Depot portrays is that of the older style. It is the wrong photo and this battery will not work in the older 770 Type 1 models.

Would go to Dremel website directly. The fact you can still order batteries would make me think you could get he charger. Make sure part numbers match perfectly. Can't eye ball it and say it looks right.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Could be better. I'm currently looking into purchasing a second one of thees battery packs. They seem to run down quite quickly. I wish that an adapter were built allowing this Dremle to be turned into a corded Dremle when longer run times were desired and a cordless unit were not essential. Essentially a corded unit that would replace the battery. August 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Yes it is a horrible battery My son gave me the battery multipro for Christmas and the battery never provided enough power to do anything. I didn't want hurt his feelings so i didn't say anything to him. It has been sitting on the shelf since then. If i had checked on line i would have figured out it was a defective/poorly designed battery. Boo. August 7, 2016
