I purchased a diamond tile blade and used this to score a 1/8" deep 2' x 2' tile pattern into a concrete slab. The tool is very easy to use. The one problem I had with it was the bone-headed placement of the on-off switch. If you lock the tool in the on position, it is hard to hold the tool without unlocking it / shutting it off. It is natural to wrap your fingers underneath, but that's where the switch is. Other than that, once I got accustomed to holding only the top of the tool, it performed wonderfully well scoring the design. I did not have to use water and the tool did not overheat - plenty of power. I cut about 200' (linear) of scoring over a several hour period of measuring, moving the board, and cutting up against it.

I used this for refurbishing our hardwood floors. it was able to cut the material cleanly without the kickback from bigger saws. it is small enough to get into tight areas with accuracy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by timtsb Versatile & powerful saw!
The Dremel Ultra Saw is the most versatile saw I own. It works on basically everything… wood, metal, PVC, drywall, and more. It’s also good as a grinder. For small jobs this is my new go-to tool, but for big jobs (like cutting a 2x4 or ripping a sheet of plywood) I stick to designated higher power tools such as miter saws and circular saws.
The Ultra Saw is easy to operate, changing blades is quick, and adjusting cutting depth is as simple as it gets. This saw was well designed. And just as you'd expect from Dremel, it's surprisingly powerful (see video).
One thing I love about this tool which Dremel isn’t always good about is the included carrying case. My standard Dremel tool and Dremel MultiMax didn’t come with one which is a pain because there are so many accessories to keep track of.
I’m very happy to have this saw in my garage!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greg Accurate and easy to use
This is a very high quality tool. I was surprised at just how accurate I could be with such a small, handheld saw. The blade depth setting is especially accurate and holds it's position very well. It was so repeatable, in fact, that using it to cut sheetrock would allow me to barely score the bottom paper time and again. Sheetrock, I found, was an excellent application for this saw. I also used it to grind material, cut Masonite and PVC. Overall, a very handy and easy to use tool.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kitkat Falls short of the ultimate saw kit
The Dremel has a very sleek design yet it seems a little on the heavy side. The saw works well with wood for plunge cuts. If you keep the base unlocked, you can place this down with the blade just above the work piece. Then you can push down to the depth you want and keep going. The limitation is that you need to be working on something where you don't need to set a specific depth after plunging. There is no stop for it. It doesn't seem as if it would have been difficult to add one to the design. There is also a dust port, but the dust port adapter isn't included. Would have been nice if that was included in the kit. Otherwise a very handy tool to have.

This saw is very versatile, at first I thought it felt a little heavy but it is well balanced and is very easy to use. A fence is necessary for long straight cuts but the depth adjustment lock is located on the side of the saw making it impossible to use a fence.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DustMonkey Perfect tool for the job!
I bought the saw because I was going to have to modify my kitchen counters to accommodate a new stove. I wanted a small diameter blade so I could cut close to the wall, but large enough diameter to let me cut through the counter itself.
The saw performed flawlessly. It made a clean cut through my laminate counter top and saved me from having to replace an entire section to accommodate the new stove.
The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the horrible noise it makes and the fact that it got very hot in my hands. These are minor gripes on my part but I would not plan on making long cuts without a cooling off period.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by maggieb Great Tool!
his is the best tool ever. I hope they never change this design as I'll want to own one forever. It is incredibly versatile. I thought about it for a long time. I was skeptical. How could one tool do so many things well. I got in a tight and needed a jamb saw right then so I bought it. I had a nice jamb saw but I would have had to drive several hours to get it. This works every bit as well as my expensive saw but it does so much more. I love the size and weight. I use my husband's skill saw to cut things but it is big, heavy and I worry about kick back a lot with it. Harder to control. This saw was made for me. I changed blades and cut the metal bit for the thresholds and changed blades to cut the wood, trimmed off a part of a tongue too. I just love it. So much more control it's the perfect tool for me. Thanks Dremel your design department is on fire! The only down side was it was manufactured in China - Dremel please work on that issue! We Americans need jobs right here so we can afford to buy your products
