I already own the Dremel version of the Roto Zip high speed cutting tool but I wanted to do some detail work. Trying to hold this heavy version of the dremel tool and do detail work was very difficult. I decided to buy a cordless model after spending some time at the store I decided on the lighter weight and more comfortable 8100 I have used it primarily to carve hard wood to start. But once I had used it a few times I have moved my Roto Zip to the back of the cabinet and now grab the "cordless" when I have a quick job to do the tool less chuck is a HUGE help it makes changing bits a job of seconds vs minutes. I gave this tool an excellent rating because it works very well for me. I would suggest one thing and that would be a second battery.

The tool has power and versatility. The immediate stop of the rotary bits makes working with the tool safer, and the continuous speed adjustments give you tonnes of control. Downsides are that the battery doesn't last very long, and it takes a while to charge up, and that the air vents pump out quite warm air onto your hands (I always fear I'm going to block one and make the thing explode).

Picked one up to work on my car. The availability to roam around was great. The power this product puts out is pretty good. I will recommend this tool to everyone. The bits the kit comes with are a few, but you can always upgrade your kit to have more bits. The 8100 is really light and durable.

I purchased one. used it one time and it stopped working. Returned it to the store and got another one. Used about 8 times to cut holes in sheet rock, and it stopped working. Not very happy, getting ready to send to Dremel, not what I would expect from this company
