With pilot holes drilled for both the circle cutter's pivot foot center point and Dremel 4200 Rotary Tool bit, I cut less than a 1/4 of a 4-3/4" circle before the tool begin to tilt out of the circle cutter's plastic housing. The circle cutter's plastic housing thread was melting. This was the first time that I had used the circle cutter.

I had to fix the circle cutter attachment before using as one of the 2 screws connecting the plastic and metal pieces was only partially installed due to a stripped out head in the screw. This was preventing the flush connection of the 2 pieces and would have resulted in on oblong circle. I was able to use it to precisely cut holes for flush mounting speakers in fiberglass. I have not used the edge guide yet.

One thing to do. Add a lock washer to the adjustment knob screw to keep your setting during use.

The circle cutter is fine for light use. Be gentle with it! But it is very inexpensive and probably fits most users. To improve it (and increase the cost) would be a redesign. For example, the scale is an approximation. The distance could be measured from either the inside edge or outside edge (of the cutting bit) obviously changes the settings. The actual diameter (for me) was an approximation cut followed by little fudges and trial and error.

Very easy to deal with any circles or straight line-cuts with limits of sizes. Price I payed through online order is fair for this functionality. However, from the day one, the inner plastic part was broken where the bolt is tightening to keep the steady height. It is not thick plastic, and they should put a metal plate to make it strong against the bolt. Therefore, there is an issue on design, but the idea is good. I am pretty sure most DIYers know what it is and some of them already made it by themselves. Once they have this minor issue resolved without increasing sale price, then it would be great tool for small hobby guys. Overall, I recommend it for a short period of time with light duty works. But, eventually, I will make real larger ones with metal components for my dremel and router as well.

The tolerances in this tool are too large to make precision circles. The dremel wobbles around in the mount causing irregular circles. This makes it unsuitable for instrument building or inlay work.

I bought this tool to cut app. 2-inch to 12-inch arcs and circles in quarter-inch acrylic. I started cutting with the 561 Multipurpose cutting bit that came with the kit. Trying to make a single cut proved impossible, as the bit chattered too much. But by backing off and making 3-4 passes of increasing depth, I ended up with clean cuts. A router bit may also work better. Acrylic is not like wood, it has a tendency to melt and gum up the works if you push it too hard, so you have to be slow and careful. But I am very satisfied with the results.
