Customer Questions & Answers

Can you use to engrave concrete?

Asked by: kdog
Yes. But concrete often contains river Rock which is harder than the sand and cement in it. If you come across river Rock with this bit, it will probably make it dull.

Can I use this to make a hole into metal, for example a coin?

Asked by: Dahlia2
I would not recommend these for drilling. For that use a drill bit. If You're using a Dremmel type adjustable rotary tool, keep the speed low for drilling.

Which is best Dremmel bit to use for drilling small holes into sea shells? #661 or #7134?

Asked by: Gee
Since sea shells are rather soft, you can use the small point set. If you need a very specific hole size, you can get a set of micro bits and a chuck to match.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very High Quality Bits I have been wanting to try etching/engraving on bottles and flat glass for quite a while. I got this Diamond Wheel Point Set for my Dremel tool to give it a try. My Dremel tool only has 2 speeds, so I used the high speed with the pointed bit and practiced on a small round piece of glass. As you can tell from my attached pictures, my etching is far from perfect, but not bad for a 1st try. These bits are coated in diamond particles and they etched the glass very quickly wit very ltitle effort. The quality of the bits is superior, but then I would expect no less from a dremel product. Furthermore, these bits can also be used on wood, jade, ceramic, hardened steel, semi-precious stones, as well as glass. I plan to practice, practice, practice etching on glass a lot to become more proficient and steady so I can make etched glass ornaments for my grandkids for Christmas! Very nice product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well I got these primarily to do some carving on ceramic tile. I've mostly been using the one with the round tip. The one we've been using has about two hours on it with no noticeable signs of wear. The pointed one has about 20 minutes on it but I'm sure it's made of the same material and will last just as long. We're using it with an adjustable speed Dremmel tool on the highest speed without any problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from specialty product These are specialty tips for a dremel tool or a similar type machine like the dremel. They can be used to make imprints on hard material such as metal, stone or glass. I am using this product to personalize my tools that I use on the job site so they clearly are identified as my tools. I always am a fan of diamond tip bits and would recommend these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied I used the set to engrave initials on my sockets, wrenches, ratchets, and other hand tools. I already had a Dremel tool but not the engraver. Didn't want to buy a separate tool so I went with the diamond point set. The set worked well enough to my satisfaction. Some of the engravings are a bit hard to see unless held in good light. Actually worked better than expected given the hardness of the tools. I used the pointed bit a lot more than the ball. Could have done a better job by concentrating more but I had well over 100 items to initial and didn't want to take all day. I could not tell any degradation after all the use.
