In our test wet took this cut-off wheel and cut two padlocks and 3 stainless bolts. The label is scraped, but the amount of material lost from the cut-off wheel is less than 1/16". Should allow you to cut quite a few nails per cut-off wheel. Unlike the thin cut-off wheels that come in dremel tool kits, this one is sturdy. Answer:
I think this is the longest lived option for cutting nails with a Dremel. You'll have to move up to a full-size angle grinder with a 4" cut-off wheel to last longer than these EZ Lock metal cut-off wheels. If you have a lot of cutting to do it might be worth your time to move up to the larger and more powerful tool.

Answer:
Various factors can hinder the wheels performance, to get the best performance its recommended to let the speed of the tool do the work. You may go through more than one wheel to complete the application.

Builder left a few nails sticking out of the brick on our house (an inch or so). They are close to an inside corner/tight area. Have tried small hacksaw and a 9,000 rpm multi-tool with Bosch metal cutting blade. Barely scraped the nails. I have a Dremel MultiPro Model 395 but have not tried it yet.

The EZ456 would be the best wheel in our line to cut the nails. However you can use the EZ545 diamond wheel to score the concrete. Dremel

Answer:
Put the mandrel in the tool first.
Then pull down on the center part of the EZ402 mandrel.
Then match up the bow tie and twist the wheel.
Then let go of the center part to snap into place.

Answer:
The EZ456 is only a 5pk metal wheels. It does not include the EZ402 mandrel. You would need to purchase the EZ402 separately. The EZ406-02 does come with some wheels and the mandrel as well.

The metal collar breaks away from the cutting wheel. Out of five in my package three have broken this way with less than 5% use. I am using the wheel at 25K rpms (within parameters) on 1/8" aluminum. I did not have this problem until I started using the five packs. Lots of lost time on my project. Grrr.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Center kept popping out in less then a minute, I only wanted to saw through a rusted bolt that wouldn't release. Returned to store and I will try the old style, hopefully that will work since I've been trying to change the rubber gasket on the freaking toilet for over a week now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from EZ Lock is a great idea, however... These EZ Lock wheels are a great idea, however, I went through a total of four EZ Lock wheels vs one '426' cutting wheels. The EZ Lock center would separate from the fiberglass cutting piece in under a minute of use, making the wheel completely useless within that time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from dremel cutting wheel ok for aluminum materials the wheel does not shatter but is to thin and not that strong with the wheel conducting heat when cutting it can cause the center to come off the wheel some times. CAN CUT STEEL BUT STAY AWAY FROM THE OTHER TYPE THIN BLADES

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Old Dremel I Guess? Wheel wouldn't fit my Dremel arbor. Didn't realize there were changes to attachment design. I hope I can buy a arbor for the cut-off wheels that will fit into my old Dremel grinder.
