Customer Questions & Answers

can this blade cut tile or just grout

Asked by: Anonymous
This one is thick and specifically for grout. There are blades that are made for tile such as one in this kit (search Home Depot): Multi-Max Universal Oscillating Tool Flush Cut Blade Variety Pack for Wood, Metal, Tile and Cement (3-Piece)

which dremel tool does this attachment fit?

We have an old (10 yrs) dremel tool.

The operating manual that came with my Dremel MultiMax20 (MM20-02H) says very specifically that it works with the grout removal accessory blades MM500 (1/8") and MM501 (1/16"), suggesting a speed set between 6-10.

Will this tool damage the stone tile edge when removing 1/16" grout joint for 3/8" marble tile floor?

Asked by: Scotty
Based on my experience, you should be fine. I had 1/16" gaps, with a few that ran big, and had no problem. It's easy to control to just hug it close to one side and then the other until all the grout is cleaned out.

Beware of blades that push the grit of the tool, as they can scratch your tile, or chip it. The reduction in price definitely helped because have found comparable at local tool stores, by the Harbor. It also allows to clean the grout channel so that once regrouting is done, it looks professional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what you need on the small tiles in a bathroom. don't try to do this by hand it's hard enough with the power oscillator the tool work as described and made the job extremely easy to get completed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from blade approval the dremel grout removal blade worked better than I had hoped. Although a little time cosuming it totaly turns the grout into a fine powder.which you can vacumn away. It's a little pricey but seems to hold up and the blade doesn't wear down. overall a good product

This blade will work with both the Milwaulkee M12 multi-tool head & the supplied adapter that comes with the multi tool....but I found putting the blade directly on the tools head is a tighter fit. also....using the head you can put the blade on at 5 different angles to the tool, left, 45 to the left, straight up, 45 to the right & right, (with the supplied adapter it can only be used left, straight and to the right.) This I found nice as I was able to use more of the blades surface without the tool being at a weird angle while working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes the job so much easier. I started my de-grouting project by hand. However, my tiles were installed about a 20th of an inch apart, and even a utility knife had a hard time getting between them. This grout removal blade saved my hands. It did widen the gap between tiles, of course, but I'm ok with that. I honestly don't think I could have completed this job without it. We used two blades to do a full-sized shower, though I think the first one probably could have made it through to the end.
