Customer Questions & Answers

can it cut into a patio paver

Asked by: Anonymous
It's not a cutting tool, but a surface finishing tool like a very rough file that oscillates/vibrates when mounted on the Dremel Multi-Max tool.

The Dremmel MM 920: what tool is the grinder mounted on, a drill or is it separate/specific piece of equipment? (I need to grind only a small piece.)

Asked by: Anonymous
The MM920 24-grit rasp mounts ONLY to the Dremel Multi-Max tool, which has a kind of reciprocating/oscillating action, not rotary like a drill.

Multi-Max 24 Grit Oscillating Tool Rasp for Masonry, Stone, Mortar, and Cement is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from concrete best used on concrete

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carbide Rasp Durable attachment for Dremel Multimax. Aggressively removed very hard concrete patch material from kitchen backsplash area. Little rasp deterioration after extended use. Not cheap but does provide value. Cheaper to buy from Home Depot than direct from Dremel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great job some of these bits for the dremel can be pricy but they hold up well and do the job. I needed to remove mortar under a removed tile to put in a replacement tile, this rasp made the job easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IT WORKS! I am replacing a ceramic tile floor and needed to remove as much of the old thinset before laying the new floor. As I am retaining the original pedestal sink I need to get all of the old thinset off of the surface of the floor to maintain the height of the sink basin attachment on the wall. First I tried a cold chisel: very tidious, very messy with chips flying everywhere, very inefficient, and with poor results. I then tried my angle grinder with diamond wheel: very, very dusty even with a vacuum cleaner crevice tool sucking near the blade. The bathroom was a mess with grit everywhere! Then I discovered the 24-grit rasp for my Dremel Multi-Max. I ordered it on-line and had it in four days! What a difference! I attached the vacuum cleaner's crevice tool to the multitool with masking tape and did a quick 10" x 20" test patch. I had the subfloor plywood exposed in about 10 minutes, and all of the debris was in the vacuum cleaner's tank with hardly a trace of dust on the rest of the floor, in the sink or shower or toilet. With only 10 minutes of use I can't speak for durability, but the thing looks like it was never used. This thing is going to save my sanity on this small bathroom remodel, and on the big bathroom to follow.
