The vise works very well for model building. I use it to assist in building model ships and it works very well allowing parts being held to be turned to work on at proper angel.

This has become my third hand. While it's not a heavy duty tool it's certainly adequate for most hobbyist needs. Easy to use. Simple. Almost infinite variety of holding angles. This was money very well spent. Thanks Dremel for another great product?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KrishnaD Great multi-use vise.
Great vise for what it's designed to do. Although clearly not intended for holding large heavy objects, it will probably surprise you by securely holding and positioning objects that are far from being tiny or small.
The best thing is the ability to position objects in a wide range of angles. By changing the position of the vise the object can remain within the jaws of the vise while the vise is adjusted to a new position, allowing many angles for attacking your work.
I use it much more often than my heavy duty 30 lb steel vise.
I've had this for about 5 months. It seems as sturdy and capable as the day I got it. It is well built.

I was looking for a vise just like this one and I am very glad I brought the Dremel Vise. It is so handy as I built model wooden Sailing Ship and I use it all the time for so many things. Easy to use, easy to setup and just plain old good.

This multi-vise has awesome capabilities. I use it for holding my rotary tool, clamping just about any object, use it for holding boards to sand, and more. It's easy to use and can rotate/adjust to any angle for great accessibility. Love it!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Shoepuppy Really nice hobby tool
First of all, it is not a cast iron bench vise. You cannot crank it tight with a large pair of pliers. You cannot use a torch on it, or solder close to the clamping point without shielding the jaws with insulating or heat dissipating plates inserted (make them).
The device works well for me as a light duty hobby vise. It can be tightened enough without worrying me to do everything I have wanted it to do, though I had to position a worn knife into it just so because I needed to file it heavily and it wanted to shift. It did the job though.
PS Really like the attachment that holds my dremel tool. That will undoubtedly be useful though it does of course, amplify the sound through the shelf and/or table to which I attach it to some degree.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jim2015 Very Handy - if used correctly.
I do modeling and often need a third hand for delicate operations. The vise is not for metal working or other strenuous activities, but for my type of work with light woodworking and plastic it is a very handy assistant. It will hold round stock easily and with the ability to rotate in just about any direction it is very useful. But remember that much of it is plastic and use it as it was intended...great addition to my bench.
