It's pretty much useless as a vise or for holding a Dremel tool, because the plastic flexes too much. You also have to demantle it and remantle it to put the Dremel holding piece on, so it's impractical to switch back and forth. But as a clamp for freehand work where precision or jaw strength is not required, it's great. The grooves on top of the bar clamp is incredibly useful as a rest for pieces that are clamped.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tool review The Slid of one jaw is too loose fitting to hold work piece in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Must for the Hobbiest!!! I bought a small metal vise at a local tool place and it works great for heavier jobs or jobs not requiring delicate handling of an item. But sometimes you have certain projects that require you to not mark up the item & an all metal vise simply won't due!! That's when I saw this vise & knew I was going to be adding it to my project to get list!! And man am I glad I did!! There have been times I have used both vises at the same time!! This is such a versatile item that I can't believe I got along without it for soooo long!!! If you do anything small or just need to sharpen tools occasionally. This vise is a MUST!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great multi-use vise. Great vise for what it's designed to do. Although clearly not intended for holding large heavy objects, it will probably surprise you by securely holding and positioning objects that are far from being tiny or small. The best thing is the ability to position objects in a wide range of angles. By changing the position of the vise the object can remain within the jaws of the vise while the vise is adjusted to a new position, allowing many angles for attacking your work. I use it much more often than my heavy duty 30 lb steel vise. I've had this for about 5 months. It seems as sturdy and capable as the day I got it. It is well built.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mutual-vise The vise works very well for model building. I use it to assist in building model ships and it works very well allowing parts being held to be turned to work on at proper angel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice hobby tool First of all, it is not a cast iron bench vise. You cannot crank it tight with a large pair of pliers. You cannot use a torch on it, or solder close to the clamping point without shielding the jaws with insulating or heat dissipating plates inserted (make them). The device works well for me as a light duty hobby vise. It can be tightened enough without worrying me to do everything I have wanted it to do, though I had to position a worn knife into it just so because I needed to file it heavily and it wanted to shift. It did the job though. PS Really like the attachment that holds my dremel tool. That will undoubtedly be useful though it does of course, amplify the sound through the shelf and/or table to which I attach it to some degree. Thank, Shoepuppy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must to have! It holds the dremel tool secure to the table or bench. That means you can hold what you are working on with two hands. None of my other rotary tools can do this....its a must to have. As for the vise, I don't care!
